I just visited this place in December and had their chicken donair. I’m no donair connoisseur but I can tell you that it was quite meaty and tightly packed indeed! the meat was quite greasy and adequately flavoured. There is limited seating in this place and be careful, some of the seats lower over time as you sit there enjoying your meal. Unfortunately there’s no washroom available to customers! I thought this is rather strange and unfortunate for the restaurant!
Pride in the long tradition of donairs, Johnny K’s is a new entry into the Halifax landscape. Taking over a well known spot on Pizza Corner, Johnny K’s offers a solid donair.Tightly wrapped, the donair had really thin slices, but was densely packed and wrapped in foil. Great spice to the meat, the major flavour came at the end with the sweet sauce being mostly contained at the bottom. It’s a good donair for an amazing price. For $10, you get the trio deal of the donair with fires and a drink and the fries are huge for one person. Salty and greasy they’re quite filling so you leave incredibly full.A nice shop on the corner on a warm day with the windows open it’s a great place to people watch, but the pigeons and wasps have learned that the open windows and doors means some feasts if they can get in. The friendly staff are good about keeping them out, but they can be a nuisance.
