Having grown up in Kuwait, I would often judge the taste of falafels I eat at other countries. I could easily say this is the only place in the entire country where their falafels and any of their food for that matter remotely tastes like the ones you get in the Middle East. The ones in the malls are fantastic but the Barrington Street branch could be better maintained and cleaned.
We came in looking to try an authentic Halifax Donair on our trip to the city. This place was nearby and was recommended by a few people so we decided to check it out. I got a bad feeling about the place immediately when I noticed that there were no customers inside. We decided to just go for it and ordered a large donair. What a huge mistake. What we ended up getting was a sloppy, wet mess that cost $10. The meat was tough and leathery, the sauce was extremely watered down and the whole experience was a disaster. Not to mention I felt like throwing up after immediately after eating the sandwich, and had an upset stomach for the rest of the night.
