Average at best. We were looking for a simple hamburger and this place was suggested to us the hotel desk. Place was empty except for one other table of six diners. We ordered two hamburgers and some side dishes. Our waitress told us she wouldnt ask the chef to make the sides because he was in a bad mood that night and she did not want to bother him. We thought she was joking but no, she was serious , she wouldnt let us order any side dishes. Food came out in decent time but service after that didnt happen and again, this place was empty. The waitress only appeared again to present the check which I felt like saying I was in a bad mood and didnt feel like paying. Needless to say no gratuity was left nor would I ever go back there.
I always enjoy a visit to the Red Stag. Today hubby and I shared the veggie quesadilla, which was nice and crisp and well filled. For mains we both had the pan fried haddock, which was served with wild rice and vegetables and was perfectly cooked. The portions were very generous, so we ended up taking a piece of cheesecake home with us for later. This had a blueberry sauce and was also delicious. Our server was very friendly and efficient. I have never been disappointed at the Stag.
