Seriously Authentic, Seriously Great. Seoul Restaurant joins The Henry House and Bramoso Gourmet Pizza as Halifax restaurants I wish were in the Greater Toronto Area, so I didn’t have to travel 1200 km to go to them. Having eaten in Korean restaurants all over the GTA, Seoul’s menu bests them all. It’s not hard to find great soon tofu, bulgolgi and jae jeong myeong in the GTA, but at Seoul we had our first tteokbokki (tubular rice cakes tossed with vegetables in a spicy sauce) and kimchi bokkeumbap (kimchi fried rice and a fried egg.) Both were amazing. You can tell by the menu and the considerate service that the proprietors are proud of the food they send out. The menu details, not just the ingredients and preparation of the dishes, but also gives the historical background of them as well.
Omg,,, ITS THE BEST! i find that this place is very good and and the decoration inside has some korean fans and korean decorations! the service was great and the waitress/waiters were very polite and its the best in the city/province 🙂
This was my first experience with Korean food, so I can’t speak to authenticity, but what I had was delicious, the staff friendly, and the price very reasonable. I highly recommend it!
This place is a jewel nestled in downtown Halifax. The decor inside may not be overly fancy but do not let that trick you. The food is great and the staff were friendly. A great place for Korean food even for beginners as the menu is detailed and explains the dishes well.
Down-home Korean food in Halifax. I have been to Korea many times and eaten Korean a lot (my wife is Korean). This place is legit. Compares pretty well on quality with Korean restaurants in big western cities like London and Toronto and New York. And the price is excellent. I had gamja-tang, a trad soup made from pork (dwegi) bone and other spicy thing. We had nokdujeon (mung bean pancakes) for starter: excellent! She had jajangmyun (black noodle) and liked it. There must be a good cook in the backroom. I had standard dishes like bibimbap and kimchi chijae many times before, which would be good for beginners, but this was my first gamjatang, and I will be having again after that experience! Prices are very reasonable. $27 for two mains and a starter, which was more than we needed.
This is actually a Korean restaurant. Though they do have some Sushi. I have eater at many Korean restos in Toronto. This one has all the staples, but the prices are a little high, and
