It was worth the trip to Canada!. A year & a half ago, our son was stationed in Halifax over his birthday. His favorite pie is strawberry-rhubarb, so I went online to try to find a bakery that made them. Smith’s Bakery not only baked that type of pie, the wonderful people there even offered to deliver it. We ordered him Nanaimo Bars as well, and I think he loved those possibly even more than the pie — he raved about them! He is stationed there once again, and when we went up to visit him last weekend we went looking for Smith’s. The ladies there are, if possible, even nicer than I remembered. We had a lovely chat about baking & ingredients and I came away wishing there were a Smith’s in our town in the U.S.And by the way, the Nanaimo Bars are even better than our son said…..

Their food is amazing ! They are the best place to eat sweet treats !
Food is usually great but i find some of the female counter staff to be rude and abrasive.
Ditto with a rocket on Uren’s report. Great sandwiches on freshly baked bread The size large breakfast sandwich did me for breakfast and for lunch ($8). The chili and corn chowder are also really good. On a good day, your Mom cooks like this.
Nice corner bakery and coffe shop with very good sandwiches. This is one of those local spots that just does its thing well. The breakfast sandwich comes in two sizes and is quite good. The coffee is self serve and they encourage you to ‘blend your own’!
