As soon as you enter into this establishment, you are greeted with the warmth and hospitality of visiting an old friend in their kitchen. I’m not sure what this building was originally, but it’s beautiful inside, high ceilings and an art deco feel, and the service is friendly and inviting. We get a booth by the window and decide to have the all you can eat sushi, but as people begin to come in, it is the regular menu that they opt for and not the all u can eat…so, this might be telling us something. We had a few dumplings, tempura shrimp, battered chicken and small beef on the bone- all very good, except of course the sushi- which is the main reason we were there for. Unfortunately, it was either bland, too warm, or had odd tasting combinations. It was the first time that I actually didn’t want to finish a plate of sushi. But, on the upside, we did get a small bowl of yummy mint chocolate ice-cream that seemed to add at nice end to the meal. At $23/each it hardly seemed worth it, but wouldn’t mind coming back sometime to try their regular menu.
