Atmosphere was amazing, beautiful restaurant. We got a seat outside and it was lovely, you could see the ocean and breathe the fresh air (: Food was phenomenal. When I came here a couple years ago, I was still a vegetarian and the veg food was great, and my mother also really enjoyed her (non vegetarian) food. Over all lovely experience and memory. Will definitely be coming back some time.
Loved, loved, loved the atmosphere! Dimly lit, well decorated/divided, fast attentive service. Went on a Monday for my wedding anniversary and it was surprisingly busy. Food was good, we’ll plated and good tasting. I had a pasta dish and hubby had prime rib. Mine was quite filling, added with a nice glass of Barolo, which was like liquid candy, and it was entertainment for the senses. Only down side was that it was on the pricy side, not somewhere id go weekly and very loud inside. They could benefit installing some sound proof ceiling tiles to cut down on the noise, but apart from that, it was a nice restaurant experience.
This is one of the very best restaurants in HRM. The service is fantastic and the food and drinks are nothing short of amazing. There isn’t a single thing on the menu that isn’t awesome. Even the fries are the best on Earth.The only down side is that it is VERY noisy and VERY expensive so I usually save this place for special occasions. Love it here!
My favorite restaurant when visiting Halifax! It was at a great location with a fantastic view harbour view! My boyfriend and I ordered tuna tartare and garlic mushroom for starters and the fall of the bone short rib and the seafood spaghettini for our mains. It was mouthwatering delish! Our tummy were so satisfied and full we didn’t even had room for dessert which was one thing I regret.
About five people told me I had to go to The Bicycle Thief while in Halifax. After seeing it on the waterfront I assumed it was a tourist trap, but it was a really great experience for fine Italian food.Lots of garlic and lots of oil is the specialty at the Bicycle Thief. The Mussels were loaded with a tomato, garlic and basil sauce that was quite strong but gave so much flavour to the shellfish. The Spaghettini Vongole was great with firm chewy noodles and tons of clams in the bowl. The sauce was really salty which went well with the seafood. The sauces and flavours were complex and at times overwhelming, but never disappointing.Probably one of my favourite restaurants on the waterfront, Bicycle Thief is almost always full. It’s a great location for a view of the water and right on the promenade it’s a perfect spot to people watch if you’re lucky enough to get a patio seat.

The patio was great; nice view and atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and fast. The food was very, very good! Mussels were fresh and the sauce they were in was so good, you’d want to soak it up til the last drop. The pasta was probably the freshest I’ve ever had. Overall, great food and experience. Just wish they had more of a local beer selection (they ran out of Bombetto by 8 p.m.).
