Had the fish and chips. Fish was nicely done, right amount of batter that stuck well to the fish. Fries were good and came seasoned well enough that I didn’t need to add to it. The only low would be the ‘coleslaw’ that was a mushy tangy mess. As bad as the slaw was, I think the meal still came out a net positive. Came on a Wednesday and enjoyed the live music on top of the usual bar ambiance.
Sub par. I am in Halifax visiting and a friend suggested this place. Three of us took in the pub a few days ago at around 1030 pm and were very disappointed. It was not busy so the need to request drinks from the server was annoying. We had two small over priced ten dollar lobster sliders, the over fried calamari and the smallest garlic cheese loaf. All of it over priced and under seasoned. The only upside was the interesting decor.
Rancher from Alberta. Spent a very pleasant late afternoon into the evening experience on a recent visit to Halifax. Contrary to other reviews we found the service to very good, attentive without hovering. The food was pretty good for pub fare. I had fried haddock which was very very good…..much better than I was expecting. My wife`s curry was pretty average in her estimation. We all loved the ambience there & heard a wonderful sister band-Ashelin- from Newfoundland. that night. Would I go back for beer & food? Absolutely!!
Was nice food, filling. I had the Mac and cheese, added bacon, very rich and good. Friends and the haddock and weren’t crazy about it, another had the beef wrap and said it was the best she ever had.
Good Atmosphere. Cool atmosphere, had a fun time. Definitely worth a try.
Great nachos, but the server was really pushy and became increasingly drunk/high (he was both) between 6 and 8pm last week. Won’t go back.
Open Late. This place is open late the only thing that sets it apart from the rest of the places that serve pub food, nothing to write home about or blog about I should say ::P
