Lobster OK, Mussels need work. Had dinner when we visited the casino while we were in Halifax in July. I had the lobster dinner which was fine. However, the mussels we got as appetizer was a bit disappointing. It was supposed to be with garlic and white wine, which I expect would get rid of the fishy smell of the mussels, but no – as soon as we take the cover away, we were turned of a bit. Using a bit of Chinese cooking knowledge, I think they may need to get rid of the residual water before putting on the garlic/wine but did not.
Selection. Food selection is poor and the menu needs updating to attract todays customers. Half orders for single folks has been taking off the menu and you cannot order what you want you get what is prepared. For example you cant order a single serving of garlic bread as its not included with the menu. As a customer you would think im paying why cant i get what i want even if its a little extra. The staff tries real hard but the back end creators of menu seem to put what they think folks want instead of asking for customer input.
Prime Rib was warm and cool mash potatoes!
We have always had great meals here. We ate here last in early Oct 2012. For appies we had calamari and lobster dip. Calamari was battered wonderfully (not chewy at all- always my fear when ordering this). Lobster dip was a little salty and I would have liked some chunks of lobster meat but it still tasted nice with warm pita, tortilla chips or fresh potato chips- it was a large appetizer and I took most home for a late night snack. For our mains: I had Seafood Alfredo n my bf had a big burger- I can’t remember the name. Both were amazing!!My pasta had lots of fresh shrimp, scallop and soooo much lobster!! The sauce was rich n creamy. I totally enjoyed it.The burger was made fresh and was also a hit with us. Give this restaurant a try!
Best Lobster Deal in Halifax. Trapeze has the best Lobster Deal in Halifax on right now. $19.99 for Lobster (1.5 lbs) with lots of butter, YUM!! http://www.casinonovascotia.com/dining/trapeze/22 Jul, 2010Great Food, Atmosphere. No Kids. Food was great, and the atmosphere was upbeat. The only negative is that it is not Family Friendly. This is in the Casino, so no kids allowed.
Pretty Good. I tried this restaurant for the first time the other night and thought it was pretty good. The service was quick and very friendly and was pretty quiet being in the casino. I find the prices are pretty reasonable as well.
