Crazy busy at meal time. Server worked hard. Food was yummy. Had burgers. Diner feel, certainly not upscale. Almost tavern feel. Might go for the pizza next time. Open 24/7 now.

Always welcome. Worked across the street from this gem for almost a month before being told about its location. In short this place defines Halifax. Amazing food with exceptional variety. What made the experience overwhelming was the staff. Friendly would be an insult since my visit felt more like being welcomed back after being away for a long time. I will return to this fine pub. I miss my home since moving here, but tonight and for the first time, that feeling was gone. I felt like i was home.Cold beer, good food and friendly conversation. What more can you ask for.

Best Pizza I’ve Had in Halifax. Nuff said.

Considering Halifax is a ghost town after10 PM this place could get by being mediocre… however this is not the case. Great food good beers on tap including crafts.

  • Jughead Jones

One of the few places to eat late night in Halifax (open til 5 am) . The food is not great and the place is getting run down due to the inevitable bar closing early morning student patrons.

Tasty pizza and local draught beer. After 9 on a Sunday night, there was practically nothing apart from burger/fast food joints open, until we walked past Freeman’s. From the outside, it looked interesting. As we walked in, we were greeted and told the bar and kitchen were still open. Halifax’s Propeller Brewery beers (mostly ales) were on tap. Honey Wheat Ale and IPA went down very well with the Philly Cheesesteak on multigrain crust pizza. I wasn’t so sure about the Philly Cheesesteak originally, but my first bite changed my mind. The toppings were nicely done, as was the crust (a bit crispy, a bit chewy) – and not greasy.
