This used to be one of my favourite spots, but many of the original kitchen staff have gone and the new ones are not nearly as good. Our lattes were room temperature and they seemed too busy chatting to bother to come by to check on us. At least the cashier was very friendly and removed them from our check.
This place has a touch of authentic Italian Charm. Unassuming, there’s brillo and San pellegrino as far as the eye can see. Really decent lasagna and parmigiano – style dishes that are not outrageous in price. Desserts are pretty amazing – recommend their creamy canoli. A nice addition to the Halifax scene.

I think this place is overrated and overpriced. It’s not bad but it is nothing special. I ordered a smoked salmon sandwich on focaccia bread which had insufficient onion for ‘bite’. The focaccia was also substandard, with a ciabatta-like finish. I paid something like $11 for an ‘okay’ sandwich that should be expected of any corner deli; it’s not worth raving about!
Amazing lunch/dinner and to die for desserts! Try the grilled cheese and pesto tortellini.
