Good steak and chowder!
Steak may be thin but I haven’t found a better derby steak anywhere !
DERBY BABY!. My little girls, 9 years, eats the double del with mashed and side gravy and an apple turnover for dessert, then asks to finish my steak! enough said
Worst Restaurant. The food here is terrible. The steak is thin and over done. It was packed and so noisy. The only good thing about this place was the service that our waitress Chantal provided. Thanks Chantal.
Chewy, fatty, cheap steaks served in a cafeteria-like atmosphere. This place is overpriced considering the low quality of food and the mediocre service. You won’t save time or money settling for this place.
Wonderful fish chowder. Our tour of Halifax (we were on a cruise ship) took us here for lunch, and the Fish Chowder was incredible…even though it’s 101 where I live the thought of it has me salivating. Fish, scallops, shrimp…and rich and so flavorful. Gingerbread and bread pudding were good also.If we lived in Halifax I’d certainly go back
Worst Restaurant Ever. After waiting an hour and a half to be served the food finally arrived and it was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. My friend ordered the liver and onions with a baked potato-that came with the smallest toughest piece of liver without onions or bacon and cold french fries on the side. I had ordered a strip loin steak -rare and when that arrived it looked like a piece of shoe leather and tasted like one too.The good thing about the whole evening was a pleasant waiter and we weren’t charged for the meal. However I have vowed never to cross the threshold again!
