This is a hidden little gem on quinpool. I can definitely see myself going here often on a snowy or rainy day when I want some hot hot ramen! Their miso ramen is delicious with perfectly tender and well cooked meat. Their dumplings were okay. Definitely go here for the ramen on a cold day!

I’ve been a number of times now and the staff have always been friendly, the food has always been ready fast and delicious, and the prices cheap! Wonderful and cozy restaurant with a lot of charm!

Good broth and noodles. Meat was good but some pieces were slightly dry. Overall, good ramen, especially for Halifax. Service was good. Haven’t tried the dumplings

Sooooo good. I was a little hesitant about this place because I felt it looked a little sketchy from the outside. But the inside is super nice! We had a seat by the window, our waitress was super polite and helpful. I got a really delicious bowl of crispy chicken ramen and my friend and I split some dumplings, they were incredibly fresh and flavourful. Delicious. The price is pretty good too, I paid 12$ for a small (it was pretty big and filling) bowl or ramen and the 1/2 dumplings order I ate. One thing I like is that the menu is very simple so you don’t have to spend forever getting confused by many different options. Everything is clearly laid out. I’d definitely come here again.

This place lives up to its name. I liked this restaurant the first time I visited it and I like it more and more as I keep coming back. People are used to Chinese restaurants having a menu that goes on for page after page but in China, that is the exception. So this place is more Chinese (North Chinese actually). They make two things and they make them superbly: noodles and dumplings of the kind that some people call pot-stickers. The noodles are served in a broth of your choice which includes vegetarian options as well as chicken, pork or beef. Similarly there are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dumplings. I have loved everything I have eaten at this place. The portions are generous, the service is brisk and friendly; the prices are reasonable and just thinking about the food makes my mouth water. So if you like Asian food, you owe it to yourself to visit Truly Tasty.

Lives up to its name. Visited Truly Tasty for the first time on a recent visit to Halifax. There are 12 reviews (at time of writing) on yelp, so I checked those out. They are now open Sundays, and have a temporary menu, which includes 4 types of ramen , now in 2 sizes, 4 types of dumplings (now in 6 pieces, not 10), and a few other items – the changes to the sizes I assume are to address some customers comments on yelp that the servings were too large therefore a bit too expensive. I found Truly Tasty to be very good value. We ordered a veggie ramen and a crispy chicken and broccoli ramen, and the pork dumplings. We received really delicious complementary bean sprout salad starters, which we loved. My veggie ramen was delish – I opted for the meat broth, not the veggie one, and it was rich and yummy. Noodles were decent, maybe a little underdone for my liking. Lots of yummy toppings, including pickled ginger and daikon. The tofu was amazing, but I was sad there were only 2 pieces. My date’s ramen was tasty too, but the oil from the fried chicken breast made the broth a bit greasy, while the chicken itself was juicy and delicious, as was the broccoli. Dumplings were really good, and we opted for the chili oil, and then asked for soy as well. Overall, 4/5 stars for good value, healthy comfort food. We paid $32 for the above items, a coke and a tea. The service was very prompt and attentive. Would visit again if we have the opportunity!
