Great food and service.. My Wife Marla and I went there Monday night. I had the Meatloaf and she had the pan haddock. Both meals were awesome. I also ordered a side salad which was very good as well. The service was quick and curteous. The meals and 2 softdrinks only came to 35 bucks with a tip 40 bucks. The food was hot,tasty,and only had 10 min wait for our food. You get great food for a low price at this place. 10 out of 10.
Love the 50s theme and the jukebox!The deserts and milk shakes are the best example of the true north if ya ask me.
Supper. Earlier this evening 6 of us had supper at the restaurant to celebrate my son’s birthday. The food was great the service exceptional. Please keep up the good work.
Disappointed in new ownership. We once again came to your restaurant bringing 2 new guests, thinking nothing had changed and it was the very best restaurant in Nova Scotia. Sadly we were very disappointed in the entrees. We all had milkshakes (4) which were well done and tasted delicious. However when it came to the burger and fries and onion rings we were disappointed. We have been coming here since its original owners opened and they always served a good sized burger. This time we barely could find the meat in the burger and the fries and onion rings were very greasy. The liver and onions, my husband had were also somewhat off. What happened?? I know the cost of food is up, but why shrink the quantity of meat and it seems the quality of the food has gone down hill! Would we continue to recommend and come back…..I am not so sure, since ownership has changed and quality has changed. This restaurant was a top favorite of ours until this experience.
Used to love this place but apparently there are new owners and the place is notthe same. The food was not good and the service was very slow. People who were seated after us had their food and paid before we got our food. Very disappointed as we used to really enjoy this place.
Totally cute place for a date. The food is okay quality.. with prices to match. Poutine is my favorite dish to order, and the banana splits are to die for. Nice little retro place.
For a venue that boasts home-made and fresh ingredients, I was profoundly disappointed with the food at True North Diner. My meal was taken several months after first discovering the restaurant, amongst a marked decline in patronage and presentation. The appetiser, bruschetta, tasted like it was out of a tin – full of preservatives. The inattentive server delivered it with cheese after I explained a cheese allergy with my order. Bafflingly, it was served on Texas toast – soaked and soggy throughout. The main course was not much better: I ordered my burger with a $1.99 extra of guacamole, and while THIS may have been made in-house, it was certainly left out all day (or in the fridge for several). The meagre spread was brown and black, and entirely tasteless. Between the prices, service, and dispassionately made food I will take my dollar and my appetite elsewhere.
