Amazing eggrolls!. The eggrolls at Garden View Restaurant are the best I’ve had anywhere handsdown! I buy them by the dozen and freeze them. The house plum sauce is amazing too 🙂
Welcoming place. I have enjoyed going to the Garden View restaurant for the past 8 years. The servers are always pleasant & anxious to please….always fast & courteous.The menu is typical of many Chinese restaurants, but I like how they always satisfy my special requests, when I order something changed from the way it is on the menu. They have always been very welcoming. Can’t ask for much more than that!
One of the best Canadianized Chinese food places in Metro.. For what it is the food was good. The eggrolls are certainly the best food there. I agree with other reviews that the wait staff aren’t that good.
Thanks for the Allergic Reaction. Our family has not had Asian food in years and decided to try it again. Armed with a new Epi-Pen, we made a point of going early Sunday night to beat the dinner rush and very clearly explained to the server I had a severe shellfish allergy and asked 1. could they accommodate it and 2. could the chef suggest a menu item that did not contain any shellfish. I also pointed out that I could not have items that have been fried in the same oil or contained anything like shrimp in the sauce. Our server looked bored and unconcerned. I had to ask her to write the specifics down. She even suggested sweet and sour chicken, which upon asking did admit they were fried in the same oil as the shrimp. We should have left right then. The chicken chow mein and beef broccoli were ok – but near the end of our meal I noticed I had a tickle in my throat, and by the time we got home was having a full on allergic reaction. I take full responsibility for risking a Chinese restaurant that serves a great deal of shellfish, but the server and staff should be ashamed of such a lazy and irresponsible approach to handling allergies.
I’ve been away for 10 years. Came back home and stopped in for a meal. The sweet and sour sauce tastes like fruit loops. The fried rice was bland. The egg rolls were amazing. If you go just get a plate of eggrolls and leave. The service was extremely slow. Had to flag a waitress down just to get a drink. 10 minutes before we saw a server or menu after we were seated. Wouldn’t recommend
Tastes all right for chinese food. Not nearly as good as thai food at Talys
