It’s a family friendly restaurant with attentive servers and lots of TV screens to watch a game. Unfortunately, the food is terrible and over salted. There is no care put into the presentation of the food. We had limp fries. Our steak was soaking in grease and butter. Chicken was dry and very salty. The vegetable sides served with the main entrees were overcooked and greasy as well. This experience reminded me of why I try to stay away from major chain restaurants.
Don’t even bother going here. The food is terrible, undercooked, and the service is terrible. For example, they’ll microwave a cup of coffee when you complain it’s cold. I wished I had went to the McDonald’s across the plaza instead.
Every time I fool myself thinking this time it’ll be different and every time it’s the same overly salted food. Couldn’t even eat my burger it was so salty. What did they do to the avacado? Something seems off. The texture isn’t creamy and soft and the color looks too perfect to be natural. Lumps in the poutine’s gravy (like you would find in a school lunch cafeteria). Cheese already congealed like it was sitting under a heat lamp waiting to be served. Asked for refills on water, waitress disappeared, and when she reappeared told me she hadn’t forgotten my water and disappeared again for another 10-15 minutes. Guess we weren’t high priority? Not coming back after this regardless of the menu changes, Applebee’s!)
Applebees is a terrible chain in general. Doesn’t matter what I order, every time I go, they’re out of something. There are better places to enjoy your meal in the area.
Food was good, but cutlery and plates were dirty.. Its your typical big chain restaurant. Friendly service. The cutlery had a dry food piece on it which happens when people over-jam the dishwasher. When the food was served, the plate was messy as if they platted the food quickly, and splattered everywhere. Overall it was good and I would go again.
Where to begin, from the cloudy silverware to the distinctive rubber texture of the chicken, which I can only assume came from a box, this was a disappointment to say the least. The spinach and artichoke dip tasted like it was made using a Campbell’s soup base, and if you can find any artichoke in there my hat is off to you, please contact me for your special prize. The entree’s are bland and clearly not freshly made. Please do yourself a favour and grab a booth at the McDonald’s next door instead, you’ll get your food faster and I hear they even have a fireplace.
