We ate at the Applebee’s in Ajax today, and were sadly disappointed. We ate there about 5 months ago and were so delighted with the food, we told everyone–but today that’s not the case. We had fish and chips from the 2 to 5:00 pre-dinner menu. When we got it before it was a huge piece of fish, and delicious crispy chips. But this time, 2 small pieces of fish, mostly soggy chips, and the dessert which is advertised as part of the order, was not a full sundae with chocolate sauce, but a tiny cup, maybe a tbsp or 2 of ice cream with whipped cream and a bit of chocolate sauce. Sad and disappointing. We went there for our Valentine’s Day treat, so we still had fun and the waitress got her tip–but the food was not up to par at all.
I had lunch here with a friend today. Our server was pleasant and attentive. My food was not that great – I paid just under $20 for French onion soup and a salad (w/ shrimp) that was mediocre at best. The lunch menu was expensive and the food was subpar. I will not be returning.
