Not impressed with the service. Asking questions is like pulling teeth. Items in their freezer/fridge are not labeled with its ingredients. Food looks freezer burnt. No expirary date labeled.I bought chocolate eggs for my nephew. I wanted to ensure their was no cross contamination with any other nuts in the facility. The lady seemed annoyed when I asked I just want to make sure again there are no cross contamination win nuts …. she passive-aggressively responded it is made of chocolate and lemon. I told her I know you said that before but I just want to make sure there is no cross-contamination with nuts. Well what happened, shortly after ingesting the egg, my nephew had an allergic reaction and had to go to the emergency department. People need to be aware how deadly allergic reactions can be. And yes, I agree with other customer comments, poor customer service and items over priced.
Let me start by saying I have been shopping in this store since it opened for gifts for sugar and lactose allergic friends. I purchased 3 bars of chocolate one had the expiry date 2018! I didn’t notice the other 2 had the price ticket of $6.99 over the expiry date. When I took off one of the prices today to wrap the chocolate as a gift the expiry date was 2016! I took them back expecting an apology and replacement but the young woman told me I should be grateful for what I have and glad to be alive. I was really taken aback! She went on about it being Christmas and I don’t know what it’s like to be a small business owner. That she doesn’t have anything to do with pricing the product it comes directly from the supplier already priced! I picked up another bar to see the date so I could replace what I had purchased but it also had the price over the date. I slid this across the counter and asked her to check and if it was also expired, she said I threw it at her. She gave me back my money for all three bars of chocolate, told me she felt sorry for me and would pray for me. It was the most unsettling encounter I have ever had!
I was really surprised that there’s a vegan place in Ajax so I had to check it out. Food is tasty and unique. I’m just not too happy about the prices since it’s a little overpriced and the portions are small. The main entrees are at $14 a piece considering the place isn’t fancy at all. I will always try a restaurant at least once but I won’t be coming back to this place. I can get cheaper vegan food elsewhere.
Visited Choko-Mocko with a group of friends. I’m allergic to Gluten and was hoping they deliver on their promise of Gluten free products. Total scam. Right after eating the desserts there, I started to have discomfort. To confirm I got up and checked out their prep area. Looked like bags of flour and baking products that are not gluten free. After seeing the owner, Ksenia Nosikova, scream at another customer for complaining about their food, we decided to get out of there. She was yelling at the other poor customer and her toddler daughter and calling them stupid f… and practically kicked them out. This lady is a total scam, rude, no manners, and a total liar. I did a google search on her, and she also goes by the name Kleo K on google, putting bad reviews for all the bakeries in her surrounding area, and putting fake good reviews on her own business. Be aware of this place and the owner. It’s overpriced, not gluten free or vegan as she claims.
Great Selection of Vegan and Gluten Free treats! Lots of Grain Free Options, Good customer service. Always friendly staff and homie feel. We usually get crepes and lattes for lunch and then stock up on thier great desserts!
I’ve eaten here many many times and I always hope the desserts and bread will get better but they don’t. The meals themselves are fantastic but the bread is dry and the desserts are waaay over priced. 7.50$ for one pastry? That’s a little steep.
I dont even know where to begin. I discovered this place last month and have gone there pretty much every other day since then. The operator/owner behind their ajax location is as helpful and delightful as one could possibly be. Since I am new to the world of vegan I have so many questions and concerns . She seems to enjoy fielding them as you can see enthusiasm in her face when she recommends certain ways of preparing certain dishes. I allow her to bring out my food based on what she feels like serving me that day and to date, she has not served me a single dish that I did not absolutely love. I love both her and her business and fully recommend it to all.
