2019/01/12SWMBO has had a Firehouse sub before, but this was my first time, and we both liked it. We were on our way east, and we stopped in for lunch. There was some firehouse dcor and memoribilia, but the restaurant was not cluttered. SWMBO ordered the medium Meatball Sub on whole wheat ($8.29). It came with five meatballs, provolone, marinara sauce and Italian spices. The meatballs were a proper soft, and the sauce was the right amount of zesty I chose the medium Engineer on whole wheat ($9.29), which came with smoked turkey breast, melted Swiss, sauted mushrooms, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side. We both combo’d our meals for an additional $3.29, with a fountain drink and side which we shared; chips for her and brownie for him. The chips were a standard brand in a bag, and the number of chips in the bag seemed a bit small for the price. The brownie was really good. There was something different about these subs, compared to all the other chains. Maybe it was the softness of the bun, maybe is was the proportion of the bun to the fillings, or maybe it was just a different combination of ingredients. Regardless, we enjoyed our lunch.
