Left feeling a bit sick.. The restaurant is more of a take-out place, there are lots of seats, but weren’t many customers. Food was ok, but I left feeling a bit gross. I wouldn’t go back. Visit often, haven’t found a decent restaurant in Ajax yet.
Really greasy. Don’t have fresh deep fry oil.
Decidedly so so. I visited Halibut Time for dinner and had cod and chips with a small coleslaw. The chips were very good–clearly freshly cut, and nice and crispy (8/10). The cod was a reasonable size and crispy, but there was a concentration of uncooked batter at one end (6/10). The coleslaw was tasty, but a bit watery. I was impressed by how pleasant and responsive the staff were. And it was definitely good value for money–just over $10 with a tin of soda, because there was a cod and chips special. But uncooked batter is kind of an unforgiveable sin when it comes to cooking fish and chips, so I won’t be returning.
Nothing special. Pricey meals.. Fish itself was completely tasteless and a bit rubbery in texture. Seemed like it had been previously frozen — definitely not fresh. Fries were soggy. Take-out dinner to feed 3 adults came to over $50. Not a cheap meal, so I would have expected more quality and taste.
Great tasting halibut. Decent prices and portions. Would return again.
