Love the custard tarts. I’ve been to this bakery 3x now, and always get the custard tarts. I tried a couple of other pastries and they were pretty tasty but haven’t tried to sit down and have lunch.I agree with the other reviewer, every time I went in this younger female employee was there and she’s downright rude (should be fired!) – probably why I won’t sitdown and order anything more substantial to eat.
Needs Improvement.. My husband and I come in once every week and a half and today we just reached our fill. We always get attitude from the young female employee, especially towards my husband and we can’t understand why. We haven’t said anything but I think if this persists we will talk to management. When we go in we just hope she isn’t working because we know we won’t have a good time and we’ve taken note that if she is, we’ll get our food and bread to go. We love the food, I myself have been going to this company that originated in the dundas location in Toronto for 18 years. But I have never received service like this at the Ajax location. If you don’t want to be there, look for a new job.
Never Again. I’ve been there a few times always raving about how clean and pleasant the place was..however, the last time I was there, I saw employees picking up dropped bread from the ground and putting it back as if nothing ever happened. The pastries aren’t fresh despite what many think. 3/4 of them according to this kind older lady are there for over a week, including the cakes. I do not recommend it. At all.
Great Place!. Great place and atmosphere for lunch. I recommend the Bifana sandwich and of course the pastel de nata.
