Had take-out a couple times and had no complaints. Went for sit down tonight (due to long wait at next door Portly) and was a complete waste of money!!! We were the only table in the restaurant (4 ppl) and It took 45 min for food to BEGIN coming out. All four meals came separately within about a 25 min period of each other. My veg stir fry came out last and about halfway through my meal I found a big long black hair. Server was confused and didn’t even apologize, just took my plate away and didn’t inquire or return to ask if I wanted another meal or anything. Finally we decided to just go up to the counter to pay and again, no apology or inquiry into how the rest of the Meal was. Will never return to this restaurant for sit down or take out. Poor service and terrible food!!!
Great food, well presented. I have been coming to this Thai Restaurant for a few years no when I am on business in Ajax and have brought friends – the food is delicious and well presented, the service was wonderful. I recommend it.F.Gavas
RUN – AWFUL. I have been to a number of Thai places and I never write reviews but WOW people need to know about this place. Let’s skip the fact the guy was on the phone instead of serving people. Shrimp Phat Thai was noodles covered in ketchup! They put a tablespoon of peanuts on it. NOTHING ELSE. Just frightening. I brought it home to my dog who wouldn’t touch it. (not kidding). Mango salad was massive mango spears with more crushed peanuts and then they poured a bit of fish sauce/vinegar on it. The mango spears were just massive hard chunks. Couldn’t be eaten. We tried the Thai spring rolls. They took a rice wrap and rolled up some of the mango salad. Again – NOT KIDDING. Just massive spears of mago like the size of a hot dog shoved in a wrap. Go to Manchu Wok or McDonalds for that matter but avoid this place at all costs. You will thank me.
It’s all Downhill. When this restaurant opened a few years back, it was excellent. But since then, has been going downhill. Today I went to enjoy their lunch buffet and there was nothing there. They had friend chicken wings, 2 spring rolls, and 5 pieces of fried shrimp. Everything else was empty and burnt to the pan. They re-filled only 3 dishes over the course of 30 min. My favorite is pad thai, and there was none to be had. The waiter never refilled our drinks, never asked if everything was ok, and ran out of clean plates at the buffet. Between the poor food and the poor service, I was left unimpressed. THE BEST PART: I went to pay for the meal (using debit) and the waiter decided he would automatically take a tip for himself without my consent. After I was speaking with the manager (because I was absolutely appalled) he offered me the tip back. The tip wasn’t why I was upset. How dare he automatically take money from me. They then offered me a fortune cookie which I returned, and let them know I would never be returning.
Food and Service terrible. Don’t waste your money at this dismal restaurant. Dreary dcor with cheap 70s decoration, stuffy air, and radio music. Ask for glass of House wine priced at $4.95. Have two glasses. At end of night bill shows two glasses of wine at $6.95 each. Waiter says they are out of house wine so served higher priced wine but never told me. Refuses to rebate and says higher priced wine is also house wine but not mentioned on menu.Spring rolls greasy with no taste except carrots and cabbage.Main course of Seafood Pad Thai is rice noodles with lots of shrimp and impossibly chewy squid drenched in very sweet pink sauce. Disgusting! $52.00 down the drain!
I read the reviews, and ordered at home what people said they liked- Green Curry Chicken (recommended by Sierra) is everything she said it was. Amazing. Someone complained that there was no coconut rice so I ordered the coconut rice, combined with the green curry chicken was the best I’ve had. So they do have coconut rice.Had the satay-good was a bit on the luke warm side when we received it and we live relatively close to the place, the Pad Thai was excellent. The spring rolls are the best in town. Mango salad, good. All in all this our new favourite Thai Place.
Delicious. I absolutely love this restaurant. My family and I are regulars here as it is one of our favourite takeout & restaurant options in Durham. I am not from a Thai nationality and was introduced to Thai food only recently but the GREEN CURRY CHICKEN & the GLASS CURRY NOODLES are flavourful and delicious. Highly recommended if you are looking for a unique change for dinner or lunch
