Best Indian food, hands down. We live in London but whenever we are in the GTA we try to make it out to Mount Everest because the food is SO good. I’m normally not a huge fan of buffets but theirs is quite delicious. The food always tastes freshly made, flavourful, and doesn’t have that oily accumulation one would frequently see at buffets. I also like to order their biryani to take home with me because it is delicious. The staff is friendly and courteous. It is a hidden gem in Ajax and is well worth a drive if you live anywhere in the Toronto area.

Most of the reviews are spot on. The Mount Everest is a hidden gem in Durham. Ignore the appearance an enjoy the food. The service was pleasant and although a little slow (the menu calls out for diners’ patience), it was worth the wait.Huge portions compared to other Indian restaurants I’ve been to, we’ll priced and loaded with flavours. The lamb madras was tender and meaty. A little more spice would have been nice, but I suppose they cook to their market.Butter chicken was good but the sauce was a little thin. The naan was hot and crispy… Yum!All in all a great experience and we’ll be back.

One of the best Indian restaurant that I’ve been so far. Great service; fast and friendly. Great food! Very flavorful and fresh. Nice selection menu with good description. They have Nepali and Indian dishes. Their Gulab Jamun desert is almost divine! Fresh and refined taste. A definite come back in my list.

EXCELLENT!! Comparable to our favorite place in St Catherines, this is the best place we have had in the GTA hands down! Very good service( family run) and the food never dissapoints!! Make sure on Friday or Sat nights you order at least an hour ahead of when you want to eat for take out. Well worth the wait!

Excellent food. Friends always love it. Nice family run restaurant. Don’t let looks deceive you; it’s not much to look at from the outside (or in), but the prices are reasonable and food is above average in quality and taste. But the food prep service is VERY SLOW. An hour for 2 curries and a couple of naan breads and this is for take out! Be prepared to wait. All in all it’s an okay experience. But for indian food in Durham, it is the best food.

Excellent. The food is excellent. I have been eating at this restaurant for 10 years and it is 100% consistent! The Family owners care and every dish is guaranteed to be freshly made when ordered. Sure the lunch is set up to be simple but not bad for the price and you get to fill up! Try the Chicken Jalfraise or the Nauratan Vegetable mix and the Special Nan is super tasty as well. The best Indian restaurant in the GTA!

One of the best restaurants in the GTA!. The Mount Everest is clearly one of the best Indian restaurants in the GTA. Negative reviews are most likely beig confused with the other ondian restaurant across the parking lot. I have been dining at Mt Everest for over 15 years and have yet to be dissapointed. The food is alway hot, flavourful, and overal just wonderful ( and very authentic). I have NEVER experienced food Oily or cold. As for comments on the size of his restaurant, why take a huge space like the other guy where the restaurant is always empty.. being a business owner you want to ensure your tables are full, at least that’s how I was told you make money, you don’t make a dime when paying high rents, paying staff, and tables are emtpy…sorry but that is business 101.Mr Singh and his family are always welcoming, you tell me where the restaurant wins awards year after year. Tell me where the Owner/Chef comes out every evening and ensures that he greets everyone and asks if everything is OK. That just does not happen. No one takes pride in their restaurant as much as Mr Singh and the family. I challenge you to show me a better Indian Restaurant in the GTA !!
