One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Ottawa. Always delicious, we often order the pad thai, green and red curry and the eggplant with shrimp. Too bad they don’t do delivery or skip the dishes, always have to go pick up the food.
Great place! We were here for lunch today and while it was empty when we arrived, the place was pretty packed when we left. We ordered a teapot of lemongrass tea for the table which was aromatic and so flavourful! We also shared an appetizer of Satay, comprised of 4 marinated chicken skewers with a lovely peanut sauce. I decided on a vegetarian stir fry from the lunch menu with came with a small chicken soup and rice. The veggies were coated in a light garlic sauce and were very enjoyable. Overall, great place for a sit down dinner.
My girlfriends and I keep going back to Sala Thai when we have a craving for Thai food. Service is always good, presentation is beautiful and the food is excellent.
The restaurant lacked ambiance and looks very dated, like something that came out of the 80’s. It doesn’t have that relaxing and welcoming feel. The food was mediocre to not that good however I did find the service good. I ordered the spring rolls stuffed with shrimp, sweet and sour deep fried fish and a side of rice. The rice was nicely cooked and very lovely however even though the shrimp spring rolls were tasty I found them very thin and woefully small. The sweet and sour sauce on the fish was good however the fish smelled and tasted fishy which means it clearly was not fresh. The fish was also rubbery and tough. It really ruined the whole dish. The overall presentation of the food was very simple. It appeared as if the chef really didn’t put much effort into cooking and presenting his dishes well. Sadly the thai food in the frozen section of the grocery store tastes much better and is cheaper.
This is my absolute favourite place for authentic Thai food! The pricing is amazing and you get quite a large amount of food, which I don’t mind :)! This is my mom and I’s favourite lunch or dinner spot !
Useless! Worst service ever. Don’t order here if you live in Ottawa! They can’t work their delivery service properly. I gave my address and we’re unable to deliver 5 min from their own restaurant! Useless
Very good Thai food. Their lunch specials are all good value. For around 11.00$ we got a refreshing small bowl of soup with mushrooms and veggies and a generous serving of mixed seafood (Pad Yod Koa Pod) on rice. The dish was a feast to the eye with a small radish cut into a shape of s tiny mouse or a flower! The food was not spicy and I do like spice so I asked for their home made hit sauce. Very pleasant lunch! Highly recommended.
