Disappointing Food. I was there last night (October 1st). I took my Mom for her birthday. The atmosphere was fabulous. The service was very good. I was a bit concerned when our main course arrived 10 minutes after ordering. My cause for concern was real. We both ordered the Vitello Picatta Gamberi Lemone. There were 2 small pieces of paper thin veal that looked like it was boiled. It was grey in colour. There was not much taste at all to it and it was very tough. You are not going to believe what was served with that. One exceptionally small carrot. ONE! At this time of year.. ONE carrot??? 1/2 a small potato the size of a loonie… 1/2??? not even 1 potato. There was a yellowish watery substance on the plate and one tiny piece of lemon on the grey meat. There was also a heaping mound of disgusting looking boiled spinach which smelled like old chinese food. There are SO many restaurants in the area. WHY would I ever choose to pay $24.99 for such a disappointment.
Seafood linguine. Came in for an early dinner and was pleased with my experience. They make an excellent caesarsalad and I really enjoyed my seafood linguine. The portion was generous with ample assorted seafood, including, scallops, shrimp, crab meat and mussels. This place is close to where my husband playsgolf and I will suggest a return visit after one of his next rounds.
The shrimp risotto and spaghetti bolognese was amazing! We arrived early and we received fantastic service!
The Best!. From a foodie I can honestly say that this is the best food north of the city! Definitely worth the trip. From food to serviceall the need is a view and a patio!
Absolutely Amazing, the food is always consistent and the staff is friendly, decor and atmosphere is impeccable!! Would definitely recommend it!!!
I’ve been to Joia several times. Depending on the time of year and how busy they are on particular night, service is sometimes lackluster (the wait staff is great and always friendly, but sometimes a little slow. Having said that, the meals have never disappointed. My experience has always been a good true Italian-style meal with attention to quality.
Good Place. We have gone to Joia over the years and usually the food is quite good. It can be a bit pricey and the service sometimes is not as gracious as in other places but the entrees are consistently tasty, the caprese salad and mussels are favorites and they will flavor the mussels the way I like even when the menu offering is different. Joia has a great ice cream crepe dessert and a nice creme brulee.
