We had dinner tonight (Sept 7, 2013). Best restaurant in GTA north. Small restaurant, great service, perfect portions, food was very good. Beautiful spanish guitar player during dinner (not too loud). Will recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Bitten & smitten by Scorpion Mediterranean Bar & Grill. Wake up call to other restaraunts in Aurora ontario Scorpion Mediterranean Grill is here and added to my list of Fav’s on any night of the week! It is rare indeed to walk in to a restaraunt and be greeted but almost unheard of to be thanked as you walk out! Talk about feeling appreciated! The ambiance is sexy and sleek, softly lit but color blocked perfectly! When selecting a restaraunt for a wonderful dining out experience to celebrate a special event in Aurora/Newmarket I go through my list of 2 or 3 restaraunts and do eeny meeny minny mo to select one from them but now Scoprion has made its way to the top of that list! Celebrating my friends milestone birthday last night at scorpion wow’d my girlfriends who had never been either! The tapas menu is vast…the appetizers were mouth watering dips with flatbread, the wine suggested by the waitress was amazing and my orange roughy was simply the best fish dish I have ever had! I have a fav pecan crusted catfish i order in a restaraunt close to my other home in california that I compare other dishes to and let me tell you this orange roughy delicately pistachio crusted was grilled with spices and accompaniment detail that made it pop in your mouth! I appreciated the fact that my meal was served piping hot to! Chef Marcello is a master connoisseur of Spices it seems! To top off our night the homemade fraktal chocolate cake was devoured by all of us but you know a cake is good when one of our group who dislikes chocolate raved the most! It is a boutique grill not a big or loud restaraunt so if you want a boutique style, intimate experience this is the place! Congrats to Chef Marcello and to your in-house baker ! I have been bitten and smitted by the Scorpion and will be back for more!

Expected more.. Tried it twice -went back after the first time, given the good reviews we thought they might deserve a second try, Maybe it was an off night first time. On 2 visits we tried cioppino, beef feature, pork chops, ravioli and for apps – salad, and butternut squash soup (that was very thick- more like puree than soup). Both times we had apps, entrees and desserts, some better than others, – out of 12 chances, some certainly passable, but none were fabulous. The first visit there was a paella special on that lots of ppl ordered, and found myself wishing we had. Given the prices, I expected a balance of normal serving sizes with great food here and there. Not every thing will be a hit but there should be some noteable dishes. Small combined with ok, or not-so-great leaves wanting for something more. Maybe it was an off night. Twice. This is not a big place, on one visit the guitarist knocked over the wine bottles behind him. You might want to check the menu and prices online before going. And sit far away from the door if its winter, it is breezy.

Best meal in Aurora. My wife and I ate at Scorpion. It is hands-down the best meal we have had in Aurora in four years. The food was outstanding, flavourful and fresh, from the Flatbreads and appetizers to the mains. It was presented beautifully and the service was first-class. There was a Flamenco guitarist playing throughout the meal, which was a nice touch. We felt valued as customers and were never rushed. We will certainly be back and spread the word. The chef and owner, Marcello Anastasi is a delight!

This place is honestly hit or miss. Sometimes the food is cooked perfectly and you will have a great meal but other times it can honestly be terrible to the point were you can’t eat your meal because something was undercooked or so overcooked that it is impossible to chew. Some of the wait staff is weird, if you get the young kid you will know what I am talking about. When you are paying top dollar for food consistency is expected.

President of Russo Corp.. The atmosphere in this small restaurant is perfect if you need an escape. Having dinner and listening to live music while you are enjoying a meal that is truly extraordinary. With each bite you’re experiencing a new spice that keeps you wanting more. The food is exceptional and the restaurant is very affordable. The chef, Marcello takes such pride in creating each and every meal and it is demonstrated with the perfection of his food.

Mmmmmmmm. Celebrated a dear friend’s birthday last night. Being downtown lovers we were truly wowed with the experience of Scorpion Mediterranean Grill. Appetizers were delicious. The best butternut sqaush soup…ever. The orange roughy and the lamb lollipops were out of this world. This is one place you don’t leave hungry combining artistic presentation and healthy portions (what an oxymoron). Chef Marcello knows how to please with his interesting combinations of flavours, your taste buds will come alive. Service is friendly, Nancy is warm and charming worth the drive to Aurora.
