Today was the day for the annual Aurora Street Festival. We always go and spend too much money but the food is great and the people are greater. When we passed by Vintage Spice they had set up an out door food display of some of their favourite dishes. We opted to try the Butter Chicken because it is a measuring stick of how well a place can do Indian cuisine. It did not disappoint. The sauce was delicious and rich with spices and quite probably the best Butter Chicken I have ever had. The chicken was very tender (which is hard to do with white meat) and not dry. The staff was mostly outside as I believe the owner and manager too… they were very friendly and apologetic when I pointed out the three steps needed to get into the place were a barrier to entry for my son and his wheelchair. They quickly countered with an open invitation to deliver the food to us. We may just take them up on it this week while our kitchen gets done.
