The food was great! Finally a good seafood place that’s good! But it’s quite pricey! We had the shrimps and calamari and both were great! The fish was good, not as great as the shrimps and calamari though! Friendly staff and an okay ambience
Okay, so I’ve been to Rayan about four times now and enjoy the food there quite a bit. For many the dining experience can be confusing and intimidating. There is no menu that I’ve seen, and you pick your seafood, have it weighed, and choose the cooking method (usually grilled, fried, or baked). I highly recommend their fried Calamari, grilled Sea Bream, grilled Tiger Shrimp, and the perfectly fried potato wedges. I will warn you that if you are not careful with the portions you order, you may end up paying $60+ per person.
Terrible service and terrible atmosphere. management must never of worked in service industry doesn’t have a clue how to deal with customers.
I have enjoyed the entire dining experience at Rayan with my wife and son, many times. Yes, it’s noisy sometimes, but that is because it is full of customers and the casual atmosphere encourages this. This type of restaurant concept is new to us North Americans. Dining at Rayan has a Middle East/North African flavour and atmosphere, which is unique, especially in the Orleans area. The Friendly staff will gladly help you decide what to eat and the manager is always there to welcome you and thank you for your business. And of course, the seafood and sides are some of the very best that we have ever tasted compared to other top rated seafood restaurants, all served in a friendly, casual atmosphere.
This was our first experience. The food was well prepared and well presented. But the noise in the restaurant from the other patrons was unbearable and the music piped in made our first experience, our last. Nothing absorbs the different sounds. It made me rush to eat and I came out of the restaurant with my head spinning. Also, no menu is available. We do not have a clue ad to what is available other than what we can see in the open refrigerated container. On a positive note, the food is delicious and comes hot to the table.
