Literally just left the place. Have been a few times before, always liked it. Not so happy this time…THE GOOD:Service – fast and efficient. Very attentive server, which can be hit and miss here at times.Sushi – Delish! Avocado was not in description so I had to pull it out. But still great.Decor – Lovely washrooms, clean restaurant, good overall decor choices.THE BAD:Dishes – Udon and Oyakodon – They replaced vegetables with lettuce. Lettuce. Of the iceberg variety. Watery, soggy, tasteless lettuce. Seriously, they used so much that it watered down the sauce in each dish.Chicken – I didn’t finish the oyakodon because the chicken tasted a little off. It smelled fine, but tasted like it may have been prepared a while before usage, if you know what I mean.Price – Normally I say the price is reasonable here. $15 for lunch and the portions are nothing to sneeze at. BUT, in light if the cheap replacement of real veggies with watery leaves, that $15 is starting to look rather high.FINAL: If you’re going just for the sushi, you’ll probably love it. I really hope this is a one-time deal and not a sign of steady decline for this establishment. I will probably return at least once before deciding on the future of our relationship.
Discusting i usually eat at sakana house barrie but my friends are into akira because there confused anyways they gave me food poisoning thats right, hour and a half later i was sick as a dog there cheap and lazy keep every thing on the shelf till last min. My aunt got sick here last year and she warned me also my friend got sick that came along there discusting terrible staff terrible service food is gross, use way to much rice to get you full no reason why the rice around the roll needs to be double the thickness as a normal roll they are cheap !!! They bring stuff out slow so you get full fast, as i write this i am still sick i tried to get my money back but they refused because they are perfect even though my aunt and i both got sick here discusting discusting discusting 27 dollars to puke my guts out go to SAKANA HOUSE awesome staff awesome food quality is there very fresh they treat you amazing again this place is scum
This is a very nice sushi restaurant, especially since the renovations. Food: We ate a LOT, as we usually do at sushi buffets. Tried a little bit of our faves and had trouble finishing it all but it was delicious. No complaints :)Service: Very friendly and speedy. Did not need to ask for refills or to have dishes taken away, our food came quickly, and we weren’t rushed out.Price: It was about $14 each for lunch, which is reasonable. The lunch buffet does not include everything that dinner does, but there was lots of selection nonetheless.Summary: A very nice place for good sushi! Recommended!
Recently ate at ASSkira and found a fruit fly in the avocado shashimi. Brought it to the waitress’s attention who then showed the manager who said it was seaweed and had ENUFF guts to remove it and give us back the roll!!!!!! I lost it at this point and they gave us 10% of the bill!!! Stay away of this hole!!!! They are number 2 for a reason!!!
Walking in, the decor is nice. However, when it comes to service there is a dramatic lack there of.. I had to ask myself for my own beer after 10-15 min of sitting and not being asked. And as of now my beer has been empty. For over 10 minutes and no one will come to our table to check on us. All they simply do is drop the food on the table and take off. They also give food to the wrong person and the beer went to my gf at first…who isn’t drinking. Also, our server seemed to switch multiple times. Thus often having unnecessary visits and often having to repeat ourselves to multiple people. Terrible customer service. Great environmen
The first thing that I loved about this place was the decor. Very interesting place to sit and eat. Location was good, however hard to get parking. Food was satisfactory. Nothing spectacular, but not bad. I probably wouldn’t return by choice, there are other sushi restaurants in Barrie that I enjoy more.
Very pricey. I can understand it is an all you can eat sushi place but your variety and quality needs to match the price. The only thing I was really happy with was the mango ice cream and deep fried banana. Additionally had a long wait to get a table and there was no one in the restaurant.
