After one year, this was our second visit to Il Bucco.The experience worths to travel 208 Km (from Toronto and back). Don’t be wrongly impressed by the front entrance (it is in fact the back door) at the main street of Barrie. The food is simply delicious, the service is excellent. Try the daily fresh pasta and be sure not to regret it… after the nice pasta and a good Barolo wine, try the homemade cheese cake.
We tend to come here during Barrie-licious but sometimes for a special occasion.Food: Absolutely delicious! The past time there were 5 of us and we each ordered a different item and tried all the dishes. EACH dish was fantastic! I had the gnocchi, and I can never seem to cook gnocchi quite right at home but here it was simply perfect!Service: The restaurant is set up quite fancily, in such a way that one might expect a bit more formal style of service, but it’s quite casual. Which is perfectly fine. Nonetheless friendly :)Price: At Barrie-licious the deal is quite great, but the usual prices are closer to the $16-$22 mark, even more for the salmon or lamb. A tad pricey for the area, but definitely a delicious meal so it’s not unreasonable.Summary: I very much enjoy Il Buco. Would absolutely recommend it! 🙂
