@bell.net. I just enjoyed a nice lunch at the Mandarin, but I think that I forgot my cane at the table. We were 4 persons, and sat in the room behind the buffet, please call me at 705 436-4382 if you find it. It is grey and has my address label stuck on it. First visit. As a retired chef of over 1/2 a century. I had occasion to go to the Mandarin in Barrie Ontario. Words fail me ! ! ! This establishment was absolutely marvellous.The Buffet. Well presented, 4 soups countless hot selections of seafood meats and vegetables. Rice both steamed and Fried, Noodles, far to many items to list here.The experience of this Restaurant was overwhelming. The staff were very helpful, extremely polite and smiling continually. For Seniors the prices are a bargain as discounted prices for this Buffett are daily upon presentation of ID.As I started this review I end with this description which I do not give lightly. The experience of the Mandarin was out of this world, delightful, delicious and just plain Terrific. Well Done a definite return is on my agenda next time I visit Southern Ontario.
Great experience. Rolled in with a group of 17 without notice. They got us all seated and eated in now time. Good range of food at standard buffe quality, with great service.
Usually the food is good, but today it was great! Great food, amazing service, and I love the music, instrumental renditions of my favorite songs!
The staff were very nice and obviously you can’t expect the same staff to keep checking on you at a buffet but the staff here were pretty consistent and did a good job checking on everyone making sure we were all happy and the place was packed! But the staff were great and always had a smile and made sure as soon as we finished a drink to refill it or as soon as a plate was cleared they were right there to pick it up. Much better than the mandarin buffet in Toronto.
Food is ok. They don’t c…. Food is ok. They don’t change table cloths! On a table with 2 cloths they will only change one cloth if they have to. Gross!
Good but not Great. I have found Mandarin to have pretty good food usually. Just not this location it would seem. The food always seems over cooked and soggy. Plus, I recently ordered take out with friends and the order was so horribly wrong that I don’t think I will bother with the take out ever again.
