Never disappointed with Pizzeria Italia. I have eaten at Pizzeria Italia many times over several decades and have never been disappointed with the courteous service and good food. The oldest and longest family operated restaurant in Barrie ready to celebrate 50 years in 2016. They have got to be doing a lot of things right despite the odd negative review on this site. Looking forward to our next visit and to celebrating their success with them next year!

Very disappointed. Ordered delivery from Pizzeria Italia earlier this week, with high hopes for delicious pizza like before. I must say, I believe the place is under new ownership or decided to cut costs at the expense of the quality of the food because it was so very poor. We ordered a linguine pasta with the Works (supposed to come with meatballs, meat sauce, and mushrooms). There was no meat in the meat sauce, it tasted like a canned tomato sauce straight from the grocery store, lacking flavour and extremely sweet from added sugar. The meatballs tasted horrific (and I love meatballs), I’m not sure if they were prepackaged or what went wrong, but they did NOT taste like meat. Based on their flavour I would guess they were at least 50% flour and other filler, if there was any meat in them at all or perhaps very freezer burnt, or both? The quality of the toppings on our large pizza was lacking, and the ham looked like it came precut from a bag. Finally, we ordered Caesar salad, which says it includes bacon on the salad (not exactly an uncommon topping at a pizza place) and it came with fake neon red bacon bits on the salad with again dressing tasting like it was from the grocery store. For a restaurant that positions itself as an authentic Italian experience that is family run I found this meal insulting. The food was gross and I encourage you to avoid this place.

Great wholesome food and atmosphere for the right price.. If you are in the mood for checkered table cloths, a warm and quiet family dining experience and appreciate quality comfort food at a very reasonable price pizzeria italia is worth a visit. The fresh homemade bread that they serve with your meal IS UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS. It takes some coaxing for them to give me extra to take home. The pizza is GOOD, the panzeroti is as big as your head, filled with great ingredients. If you want to take your family of 4 out for dinner, not break the bank, and walk away satisfied and full (with a doggy bag to boot) you will never be disappointed.Fine dining this is not. Great wholesome food and atmosphere at the right price is what you will find.

Scary!! 🙁 :(. Ordered pie, it was cold and late. over and hour. They forgot the salad. But that’s not the scary part. My credit card was transcribed in full with expiry date and back of card security code. Along with my address and phone number on the paper receipt! If you like terrible service, bad pizza, late delivery and having your private information exposed to the pizza delivery guy and the other copy back at the restaurant – Go for it. I’m sure there’s a masochist or two out there that’s looking to be punished. For the rest of you beware!!

Good Italian Food For The Uninitiated. Haven’t tried the pizza – so I can’t comment on that. First off – no issues at all with the service. The servers were quite friendly. I ordered the veal marsala. It was smotheringly sweet – almost to the point of mall-grade chinese food. It was served with spaghetti & red sauce (which didn’t make a lot of sense to me.) The pasta was dreadfully overcooked – basically a pile of mush covered in red. Either the cooks use jar sauce – or they had overstocked the basil and had to get rid of some. If you were brought up on Chef Boyardee – you’ll like this place. If you’re Italian – you might actually shed a tear over this place.

Great Italian food. Terrific friendly service and very good food….2 or us had the Itallian Wedding soup and it was very tasty and home made…included little tiny meatballs…Caesar Saladm best i’ve had in a long time and the other couple enjoyed the Panzerotti which apparently very tasty and huge in size…All in all a great treat at one of Barries favourite spots
