If there was a rating lower than 1 I would give it! WORST RESTAURANT IN BARRIE. I will never eat here again. Terrible food, slow service and the owner Sammy is the rudest man I have ever met. Not worth your time or your money. Much burrito has better pitas then this place. And that’s sad.
We go there on a regular basis….at least once or twice a month, and food has ALWAYS been very good….very tasty. The only thing is, they need to work on their customer service skills. the girls are somewhat nice, but the owner is pretty abrupt and can be rude as well…I witnessed him being rude to other customers, when they had done their order wrong. Being in the retail business myself, I tell my workers: Customer is always right!!! Even if he isn’t. But you never let the customer feel not appreciated. And that’s what he makes people feel….. like I said, food is great….but customer service sucks.
I will never come back to this place. I have never wrote in on a complaint for anything before, but all the comments that were put in the reviews previous to mine, is the same experience I had. If only the owner Sammy, dealt with the circumstance differently, I would have not left upset and gone on to tell others of the experience I had. In the meantime, there is no point going back to the owner, to say that not only was the service terrible, long wait, items in the food order missing, etc…I know by his reaction when I was starting to complain to him, He would not care in the least! Too bad.
I wanted to like Sammy’s….i really did. Being originally from Toronto and moving up here a few years ago I was in shock at the lack of variety of ethnic food in Barrie. It’s a great town if all you eat is pub food, but even to find a quick Greek take out you can not find. So when i found out about Sammy’s I was very happy and excited. I went in, place was clean and the server was very friendly ( maybe even too friendly) but that where the great ends. Food was ok. Chicken Shwarma was ok, a little flavourless, chunks of chicken WAY to big. No hot sauce or tatziki on shwarma which is standard in Toronto places. A little pricey, and the hummus had a burnt taste to it. The man cooking the food (owner i assume by the way he was acting) was rude. I said hi, he looked at me and then turned his head away. I won’t be back.
Here at 6 pm and 2/3 of the menu is unavailable! No beef, no lamb, no thank you! Will not return. Rude owner was not apologetic and argumentative. Mr. Greek will have my business from now on.
Sammy’s Service Is Sublime!. As one may have been able to discern, with little nuisance, the service at Sammy’s is, indeed, sublime. May I speak of one server, in particular, whose talents parallel only the Lord’s upon making manifest all the stars in the universe? I may. Such are her talents and wits, that one day, I suspect, nay, know, with utmost veracity, that she will make a magnificent lawyer. One could easily picture her as a leading prosecutor. Certainly not a criminal defence lawyer. Not in my town. Not in my town. But I digress. To Sammy’s – go there, or go elsewhere. And whereupon the notion should enter the compass of one’s mind to go elsewhere, say to thyself, nay! I shall go there. To Sammy’s.27 Oct, 2014Sammy’s Is The Place To Go!. I went to Sammy’s the other day. What can I say? First, I was greeted by his beautiful daughter. So beautiful. Like an Arab Angelina Jolie. She’s got a cute kid, too. Worth it coming in just to see him. The other daughter is a little sassy, but she’s sweet. Sammy’s a little sassy too, but you just have to get to know him. And Wilson will treat you like a King. The food! What can I say? I eat it all the bloody time. Shawarma, falafel, lamb stuff – it’s all good! Damn good. What can I say? Damn…So go to Sammy’s for lunch or dinner. No breakfast.
The food is great and the servers are very nice and pretty I go once a week and always have the best food I always have the best service
