Had my first experience with Indian cuisine with Tiffin’s Curry in a Hurry and I was pleasantly surprised. Told my fiance and I our order would be delivered in 45 minutes and it was here in no more than 20. The staff on the phone were really great at giving me suggestions too! Great change of pace from Chinese or pizza delivery!
Bland and cold food. Bad experience. I wonder how it has gathered good reviews. Food: it is generally bland and lacks flavour. We tried the buffet and it was cold. Clearly the burners werent working on the buffet or they dont turn them on. An excess of food colouring is used on the dishes making it look odd too. I know my indian food and this is by no means authentic or tasty. They did not have any salad with the buffet and no raita/yogurt. They state the buffet includes frozen yogurt but it is really just chapmans ice cream. Also they only include 1 naan per person in the buffet but do not tell you that. We made the mistake of asking for another naan each, only to realize they charge an extra 2 dollars per piece. That to me is unacceptable in an all-you-can-eat buffet. I’ve been to so many indian restaurants in Canada and haven’t come across nickel-and-diming you on naan in a buffet. Ambience: its a small little eatery. nothing bad or good. service: One person (I think the co-owner) serves all. This makes it slow. Overall not a good experience and certainly not your best choice for indian in barrie.
Hands down, BEST Indian in Barrie. I’ve only ordered take out from Tiffins, but every time it is exceptional!! So many incredible vegetarian options (the whole wheat garlic naan is vegan). Super friendly staff who always remember my name. So much food for the price!!!
Just got delivery and was very impressed , I’m pretty new with my Indian food and finding what I like. It’s so hard to pick a favorite when everything is fantastic. Only complaint is I had to share
Best curry in Barrie. This place seems tiny and insignificant when you compare it with the other Indian restaurants on Dunlop St. East, but it is by far the best in town. The curries are fantastic and their tomato soup (yes, just try it!) is hearty and so delicious that it’s nearly addictive. Friendly staff/owners, a comfortable setting, and excellent food – we’ll keep going back for more!
Take out. I haven’t had a meal at this restaurant while sitting in, but I have had their take home curry dinners often. They are very yummy. There is way too much food for me to consume for dinner, and I usually have enough for a harty lunch the next day.I went to this restaurant because of it’s name. I live near Tiffin Street in Barrie, so I was curious. The lady explained what the Tiffin was and showed me one in the front window! Very cool.Always curtious, always prompt, always yummy!!
Favorite place to get Indian food in Barrie. I’ve eaten there a few times and the staff are very friendly. Its a little on the pricey side for some menu items.
