Dragon Court – a sensation for your tastebuds. If you’re looking for Canadianized Chinese Cuisine – this may not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for some of the best, cleanest, most fantastically amazing Szechuan in town – you’ve found it!Dragon Court is a special little place, and I’ve been eating there since 2000. Their menu is extensive, and much of it is delicious, but these spectacular gems on their menu can’t be beat:Hot and Sour Soup – oh man, is this soup good. There are no words. Yum.Szechuan noodle – ground pork, served on udon noodles, with cucumber and the most delicious sauce. They’re not overly saucy – just right, in fact. This is one of my favourites.Chicken and Broccoli in Dried Hot Pepper Sauce – wow. Wow, wow, wow. A saucier dish, this is a great one to order rice with so it goes a little further, as it’s impossible not to gobble up this delicious dish. The chicken breast is thinly sliced, with perfectly cooked, still-crunchy broccoli, peanuts and dried hot peppers. Don’t eat the peppers, as they’re the back up singers to this awesome performance to your tastebuds. We order this spicy now, as we’ve found that they’ve tamed down the heat level to appease people who aren’t into food quite as hot as us.Mongolian Beef (the chicken is good, too) – decadent. Chunks of beef are lightly battered and coated in an amazingly flavourful sweet/spicy sauce – it’s not too sugary; just right, in fact. The beef is not cripsy, as some Mongolian Beef can be, but soaks up the flavour of this fantastic dish. Served on a bed of lettuce, the sauce is so good, you might find yourself picking at the lettuce on the plate! And the star of Dragon Court – String Green Beans in Hot Sauce. If you like heat, you have not lived until you’ve tried this dish. We also order this dish spicy, to keep it real. These beans are lightly fried in oil, and then tossed in a light onion/garlic/spicy sauce which will keep you wanting more. You could seriously just order a dish of these badboys and polish them off for a meal! I challenge you not to eat them all in one sitting – they’re addictive. The service at Dragon Court is great, in my opinion. The lady who runs it is a doll – she always has a smile on her face, and is happy to see what we order, as they are her favourite dishes, too!I highly recommend Dragon Court!

Always a good meal!. I was introduced to the Dragon Court restaurant in 2008 when I was working uptown Waterloo. They have amazing lunch deals (which you can get for dinner also for a little bit more). Each time I have eaten there the food has always been consistent (taste and portion size). The owner is very friendly and I find that the other staff are also. I would highly recommend the Dragon Court if your uptown Waterloo. We usually get the combo plates (which include tea or soup) and we pay less than $20. If you try it, you won’t be disappointed.
