First time at HGC. Last time too. The place looks nice and our waitress was friendly. She told us strait up about some items they were out of. I ordered the Poached Pear Salad with the addition of steak, wanting salad and protein. The blue cheese mousse and blue cheese crumbles with the salad along with steak sounded so yummy. Unfortunately, our waitress came back and told me they were out of poached pears so I asked to have the same salad but with the roasted beets from another salad. She ended up bringing me a salad and advised they were out of steak. Not before bringing it,as she brought it. I told her it would have been nice if she had told me . She said she didn’t know until it came out from the kitchen. Really? There was no blue cheese either,so disappointing to eat a salad of mixed greens,a few roasted beets, walnuts and dried cranberries… could have made it at home. She did end up comping it. My friend did not care for her chimichonga and some other ladies we met said their lamb burger was dry and burrito bowl was not good and she didn’t eat much of it. The washrooms needed attention as well. Two stalls don’t lock properly and the one that did lock had no paper. Seems like they just don’t care or gave up.

Incredible food and drinks!. I went in expecting something like the old McGinnis used to be and was BLOWN. AWAY. I sat at the bar and the bartender recommended I try the old fashioned – not something you see on every drink menu, and it was the best I’ve ever had. Used some sort of cherry bitters instead of the usual angostura most places use – not to mention there were a couple others I could have chose to use instead. I went with the recommendation, and it turned out great. I ordered the baja tacos, again, on recommendation from the bartender and they were hands down the best fish tacos I’ve had anywhere, ever. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy the patio when it gets finished up, apparently it will have a full bar and tv’s too. My only complaint, if I had to pick one out would be the music. It didn’t seem to suit the rest of the atmosphere of the restaurant.

California Roll Burger is incredible. Tried Heaven for the first time today and it was a very pleasant experience! On a recommendation from the attentive and friendly waiter, I tried the California Roll Burger. It’s a beef burger with a crab-cake patty on top and olive relish and it blew me away. I don’t even like olives! Even the house salad was good. The prices seemed a bit high at first glance, but they’re actually comparable to most of the pubs and other mid-range places around here. I would definitely come back.

New Waterloo Restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to see the huge renovation inside compared to the old McGinnis. The decor is beautiful and they have atleast 10 TVs to make its great restaurant to watch sports. I ate the Baja tacos and they were the best fish tacos I’ve ever had, and to top that off the mojito was perfect. Although they are a new business and have things to work out, I can’t wait to come back and try more of their very diverse menu.

Great food. Different menu, little more upbeat to the usual campus restaurants which is a nice change than regular pub food, had the grilled seafood platter and bison burger, (there were two of us), and the bison was perfectly seasoned, fresh fries were a nice change from frozen, excellent drink menu and the decor was was a welcome change, open and plenty of TV’s especially with the TV wall, server went out of her way to accommodate our seating and was very knowledgeable and attentive, will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Hit and miss. I had their lamb burger and their butter chicken; the lamb burger was phenomenal! It was actually the best burger I have ever had, ever. However, the butter chicken sucked… It was gross.
