    I visited Itamae this summer because my brother, who lives in Waterloo, had been raving about it. When he visited Montreal, I took him to a sushi place and realized that he had turned in to quite the sushi-snob. When I ate at Itamae, I found out why.The fish was very fresh and the rolls were quite good too. The seaweed salad was what won me over with it’s crunchy goodness. The cooked items were not as impressive as the sushi and sashimi but the entire meal definitely did not disappoint.I was impressed with their tablet menus, decor and the quick service. Unlike most other restaurants, the total price at the end was a very pleasant surprise!

    Never going back.. I went with some friends recently, we had three waitress who stood at the end of our table and every time I looked up they were staring at us. The salmon tasted like sour mush, and I wasn’t impressed over all with the rest of the food, the rice was dried out, and tasteless. I’ve been to other Ye’s locations and been happy, but this one is not getting my business.

    Don’t go rip off. This place sucks! It use to be good! Now they charge for little stupid things like tempera that I didn’t eat 3$! I should not have tipped! What a crap place!

    Terrible Service, Wont Be Coming Back. My roommates and I have been going to this restaurant for about a year now and lately we have been receiving terrible service from the waiters/waitresses. One time after we had all paid (with a minimal tip b/c of poor service), the waiter caught us off guard and questioned his service and asked for advice. It was in a very unfriendly and rude tone. It seemed very inappropriate and made us feel uncomfortable. Not a single staff member said a word to us the entire time, which is why we did not tip. We returned back again a few days later. There were bones in our sashimi. The other waiters/waitresses were giving us weird looks. And as we were leaving after we had just paid, the man who was our waiter the other night stopped us as we were leaving and asked us if we had paid, accusing us of ditching and not paying for our meal. That was way out of line and because of that terrible service we will not be returning.

    Good price and we enjoyed the menu screens. The servers were polite and friendly. Great selection for lunch. Our fish and edamame were very fresh. I was impressed because often all you can eat has cheaper cuts. Def go again

    WORST RESTAURANT EVER. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.. This is my first time writing a review because I am very angry at the customer service they provided. First when we asked for a booth, the waitress threw dishes on the table without saying a word. We weren’t given chopsticks even after the food arrived so we had to ask for them. We ordered red tuna but the tuna was not pink/red at all, it was more like brown and had unpleasant smell/taste. So we couldn’t finish the red tuna and when we asked for the bill, the waitress got angry at us for not finishing the food and would charge us for the leftover food. I explained that we finished all other food/sashimi but not the red tuna for aforementioned reasons, but she raised her voice to argue us over that there was nothing wrong with the fish and tried to make us pay for it. We asked to speak to a manager who did not show an up and we ended up talking to another waitress who understood our situation. This went more than 15 min. It was the worst dining experience I had (the food didn’t taste good either) and it was definitely NOT WORTH paying $50+ for two people. I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone.
