This is probably the most Canadian Pub that Ive been to in the Waterloo region. Its quite compact, I think it cant hold more than 25-30 people at once. They have quite a few board games and card decks if you wanna play while drinking. The bar is really nice however I didnt see any food around (and neither did we order any for ourselves) so cant say much for that.
A REAL PUB. Now this is what I call a real pub. It’s all about tasty beer and lighthearted conversation with people who don’ t put on airs. Yes, it boasts a nice big screen with high definition, but I am already won over when a total stranger at the bar starts talking to me and the bartender actually engages with me with intelligent anecdotes. It feels cozy and homey. But here’s the best part. They invite you to bring in your own food. What? Yup, your own food. You can cook it yourself or buy it next door at any one of the international eateries in the plaza. I don’t go to bars to drink. I can get that at home. I go to a pub for the social experience. And the Kick-Off is a social experience. I’ll be back for Grey Cup Sunday.
Great Beer Selection. Okay – it is a bit of a hole in the wall, but once you get past that you’ll usually find a group of friendly patrons, and a stunning selection of beers for a small establishment. They keep a constant cycle of new beers on the tap, and a fridge full of beer from around the world. It’s also a great place to watch the game (whatever your game may be) with a giant high-def TV on one wall, and a couple of smaller ones to boot.
