This was the nearest indian restaurant to the hotel where i had stayed during my visit to Waterloo. I had took take aways from here very often and i have tried there veg as well as non veg dishes. Although i feel the price is on the higher side when compare to other indian restaurants in waterloo. But the food is good so so great. I am not sure why they add so much coconut in all their food including biryani.
Take-out. Ordered take-out on my way home from work. Very flavourless! I recently had delicious indian food a couple weeks ago while in British Columbia so I was craving it again. I ordered a dinner for one with some naan bread which was $25. The dessert that was included in the dinner for one was a joke. It tasted like an old fashioned plain timbit soaked in some sweet liquid, soggy. Hmmm…..Tim Hortons is in the same parking lot. Even the basmati rice wasn’t good. There was only one couple having dinner in the whole restaurant and it was 5:45pm which should have been a clue. Not a place I would go again. Really don’t know how this restaurant stays in business.
Won’t go back. We ordered butter chicken which was lacking in the normal flavors of this dish. It had mostly onions in it and very little chicken. I am not a fan of onions and this dish tasted very strongly of onions. I have never had butter chicken with onions in it. Unable to eat it I had to flag down the waiter/owner and tell him. He said no one ever complains and they have been serving it like that for as long as they had been in business. No offer to fix it, no offer of anything else. He took my full dinner away. We paid our full bill and left and went out and got subs for dinner. No wonder there was only one other table there.
Food is not the worst part if experince.. Bu far, the worst indian food that i have ever had, but that was not the worst part.Waiter was super rude. I had never seen such a rude waiter ever elese. Will neveeeeeer go there again.
Sub-par. My boyfriend and I ordered from here for the first time. I had the Butter Chicken and he had the Shrimp Tikka Masala. Both were subpar, and lacked the usual flavour spiciness of authentic cuisine. My Butter Chicken had a very sweet, coconut flavour and raisins. I will not be ordering from here again.Upside, fast delivery.
Good food, decent prices. The food is great, they open late as well. Till 10pm on Sundays. We ordered take-out, the beef vindaloo which is advertised as spicy and a chicken and rice dish. The latter came with a salad and a mint sauce which was awesome. The former, though definitely not mild, was not insanely hot.Great place. Prices on par for the other indian restaurants in town (Masala Bay, Vijays).
Great food. Quite inexpensive. Great atmosphere. Mixture of clientele. Well established. Have been going for over 15 years. Even with the one change of owner the quality has remained the same.
