I come from Europe so for me this was a unique experience. Id say the food doesn’t look as appetizing as I expected, its quite rushy put together. No matter though I liked their McGriddle – it was interesting since I haven’t seen it my country. The waiters are extremely polite and customer orientated, Id come again just alone for that. The lady at the drive-through was super fun and upbeat considering it was early in the morning.
No Fries!. This McDonald’s never has french fries on Wednesday nites after 8:00pm (it could be a problem on other evenings also). All the cars get pulled over to the waiting lines. This is a consistent problem with this location. If my husband now wants fast food when he’s done work, we go to Wendy’s!
That Identical Experience. E: It is a feat of industrial engineering that no matter where in the world one is McDonald’s is available and tastes the same as its counterparts in other countries. Moreover, the food appears inviting and appetizing at first and ends up giving one gastromicregretus later. That experience is a universal constant. The Big Mac was as it should be. The French fries were McDonald’s’ state-of-the-art stuff. Once again, I tried to pour water into my cup and managed to fill it with Iced Tea. Two years later – my last visit to McDonald’s – and my capability has not advanced. Before that I had a Berry Juice and remain conflicted about it. It simultaneously tasted acrid and overly sour and berry-delicious.-A: This location is a McCafe. I might be totally wrong about it all, but the concept is newer interior decoration, more sophisticated colours and tones and a line of coffee-related beverages (with fancy names) and cold drinks. The music on the PA system comprised of somebody doing drunkard covers of pop tunes and Neil Young’s Pot Of Gold. The interior was unkempt if not dirty. Several tables needed attention. The whole time I was there one table was cleaned, several were not and an unclaimed take-out brown bag full of fast dating food sat as unwanted as a cop at a Mensa meeting on a nearby table. The ketchup dispensing pump had left residue and splatter under it. The sole TV monitor, which was facing the entrance for some reason, had big fuzzy blotches on the screen. The washroom needed some attention. It was not so much filthy as there was water everywhere. It looked like the prior visitor had decided to have a splash party in the sink and environs.Has anyone noticed the newer McDonald’s commercials? They feature modern exterior and interiors being frequented by younger and edgy/fashionable looking clientele. The message had not reached northern Waterloo. The clientele looked like the cast of Cocoon: The Return (and I was playing Steve Guttenberg). The older lady perched on a high table reading the whole time was fine. The older man asleep (dreaming of his pot of gold?) and the old husband and wife team whose male member was unintentionally dropping half his fries into his jacket via the unzipped upper half were something else.-T: The joint was not busy. My order was taken quickly and made ready within minutes. Tables were available and the water (Iced tea) fountain readily accessible. Parking all around the building was available. The drive-through was moving along. Incidentally, the outdoor seating area was nestled between the drive-through and the road. Eat exhaust, baby.-S: The teenage crew were working fast serving dine-in and take-away diners. No smile, no frown, no thank-you and no rancour – just matter-of-fact junk/fast food.A couple in front of me asked regarding the sugar content of a certain item and the cashier promptly retrieved a guide and went about finding out the information for the lady. The chain’s fat/sodium/size information is also on the flip side of the trays’ paper mats.Credit cards are gladly accepted no matter how small the size of the transaction. The location’s drive-through is open 24 hours a day. This is how McDonald’s gets half its customers. It is mid-afternoon, most regular restaurants are closed now, McDonald’s is everywhere. There is only one choice.I also now know how the daily Conservative party pamphlet (a.k.a. Sun newspaper) stays afloat. It is not just the party faithful’s donations and barber shop subscriptions. Many tables, as well as the newspaper rack, were well supplied with said paper.
