Really not worth the hype. I love a good burger and I found no such thing here. It was no where near what I was expecting or hoping for. I went with a friend of mine and we were both quite disappointed. Poor service and even worse food. Perhaps things have changed since I was there, but I don’t think I’ll give it a second chance.
Menu is a bit complicated but food was good, a bit on the expensive side for a burger though. Drinks are served in measuring cups which is pretty cool. The service was great, the waiter that served us was funny too. Fries and onion rings here are delicious. And you can create your own burger so that’s cool too.
No offense – The worst burger that I’ve ever had. I came with my girl friend on Monday evening and the place wasn’t packed with some nice atmosphere. We ordered Tower O-rings for the starter, I had smokey mountain and my beef with medium well.Having said that the dip with mayo was pretty awesome which you must try; however, the chipotle dip was quite disappointing. In my personal opinion, no offense here, I have been trying a lot of burgers and this happened to be the worst I have ever had in my life at this moment. The beef was not juicy enough (in fact it was dry and hard), I put it into my mouth and it pretty hard for me to swallow. It was gonna be my top 10 worst burger in my list.In order for you to judge my nice burger list, five guys is one of my preference. If it is one of your favorite, then we are probably on the same path (if you know what I mean).Anyway, different people have different preference.Enjoy your menu =)
COOL PLACE, COOL VIBE & GREAT EATS!. My family and I had dinner at the Works again the other night. We came around 7:30pm and the restaurant was packed but we got a table after a quick 15 mins. While waiting we (and other people in line) were treated to some free onion rings and a slushy drink sample called a Crush mmmmmm good and pretty cool they do that for people waiting! My daughter has a severe gluten allergy and its one of the reasons we choose to eat here as the Works are quite particular about taking care of peoples various allergies gluten or otherwise. They even send the manager to your table to explain their procedures and answer any questions. Our server Kathleen was very attentive and really funny. The atmosphere is pretty cool, steam pipes, machinery exposed brick and various old Waterloo artifacts in the walls here and there. The tunes are awesome with blues, rock and even a little funk playing throughout the place. We got our favourite burgers and myself and a few of the kids got shakes too, they have a new one called the Nutty Shaker….just get it! All in all it was another great visit and the bill was reasonable. I’ve read on here that some people actually complain about the glass measuring cups they serve you drinks and milkshakes in but they are cool and just another way the Works Burger joint doesn’t want to be like everyone else. Its a shame some people make bad reviews about silly little things. Two thumbs up to the best Burger joint in the city, U GOTTA EAT HERE! Have a great day.
Worst Service Ever. Please do not eat here! We went here on Sunday for my bro’s bday. We were a large party but it was still a comedy of errors. First we were sat in the party room, then told that the party room wasn’t for us. The server took our the order of half the party and not the rest. We had to go get her to take our order. Then she served half of the party and they were done eating before we received our food. We waited exactly one hour for our food to be served. The cherry on top comes when I received my burger and it was pink! The supervisor came over and started telling me that they take the temp of each burger so I ripped it half and showed him how pink it was. He did apologize and offered me another burger but at this point we had been there 90 minutes. I had my kids and the fries that I asked to for (when we were waiting so long) came after the burgers. The supervisor refused to discount my kids meals after myself my husband and my brother explained the sordid situation. He did promo my unsavory pink burger which did not get eaten. Then he offered us some milkshake coupons but I told him we wouldn’t be back. All in all it was a two hour ordeal for my family to eat a less than average meal in a restaurant with some pretty cool ambiance.
Delicious Veggie Burger. I had the Veggie Burger with Goat Cheese, Spinach, and Red Pepper. It was delicious! May even be the best veggie burger I’ve ever had.
Bland. Lots of topping choices but that has to be the blandest burger I have ever had. I complained and they told me they add no seasoning to the meat… Like it wasn’t obvious.
