Best. Sandwiches. Ever. It’s the gem of Waterloo. They put 80g of any meat you want on a sandwich! Not only does it cost only $5 for these amazing sandwiches (less than subway) but they have amazing gourmet toppings and sauces. As a market it’s cute but expensive, however they have some unique grocery items if your looking for something you cannot find at your local grocery store. My family always goes here at Christmas time for our cheese and meat platters since they have great quality and variety. Definitely recommend!
When I first moved to the region in 2004 (from the GTA) I lamented that we had nothing like the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto (and, for the most part, we don’t) – but, much of what you can get at that fabled institution you can get at Vincenzo’s! 🙂 Do you want to buy all of your groceries there? No – much off-the-shelf stuff you get cheaper at the chains, but all of your gourmet needs will definitely be met here. SO much better than Dave’s gourmet (I’ve always found the selection at Daves – the one on Ira Needles -to be very sparse – the one on Bruce street is better).Their hot bar and sandwich bars are also awesome, but you’ll be waiting in line – they’re just SO popular!! :)And, you have to LOVE the cheese lady! Seriously – no-where else in the region will you find such a great selection of cheeses!!! 🙂
