Not a place I would recommend. The food is ok, the prices are ok, the location is nice but the place is dirty and unkept. Drinks are way overpriced and their margaritas aren’t that good for the $10 +tax +tip price that I payed last time.It takes forever for your order to get to the table, and it seems like they are usually understaffed. The main meal is usually very nice, you can tell that they have some good cooks. However the sides such as rice, salad, beans don’t taste like anything and are usually served cold and probably old. Some of the employees, and especially the owners treat the clients like cattle. Clearly they just want the clients to pay and get the —- out. The two owners seem to resent their clients, and speak about them out lout, that is, unless they are friends with them; in which case, they will talk to their friends for half an hour before bothering with your order. There are however some really good employees that redeem this place. You can tell that try their best to provide you with good service, but they seem overworked and tired. My biggest complaint is not the food or the prices or even the cleanliness of the place, but rather the treatment of the clients. I do not feel welcomed in this place anymore and that is why I have stopped coming here. It used to be a lot better with the older owners.

A classic gone sour. This used to be one of my favourite haunts. I used to recommend this place based on the fact that it still held some of the old Mexicali’s (former name) charm and dishes. This place has lost its shine and is riding on exhaust. It is getting worse by the visit. What once were awesome nachos have turned into pub style fare. Dusted with some weird seasoning that queers the whole dish. Service was slow and disorganized. Food was not what you expect for the prices. They even screwed up their popular Tomatillo sauce. Sad all around. Do not recommend.

Diner from Ottawa. Nice wait person, awful food and drink, replaced by so-so food and drink. Wait person was apologetic, manager was defensive, didn’t listen as he rattled off his defense – asctually walked away as I was responding. Dining partner also unsatisfied with food, no discount; almost $60 later – regretted going there, won’t again, can’t recommend. Mexicali Rosa’s was much better.

A wasted venue. I have tried to enjoy this place on more than one occasion this past summer and a couple times in between, A beautiful patio wasted! Canned tomato salsa, horrible tasteless beans and rice, premixed margaritas and daiquiris, boring and tasteless enchiladas and in a very bland sauce, McCain frozen french fries, endless items on the menu cooked from frozen, unfortunately these new business owners do not have the experience to hand out fresh delicious Tex Mex, they have followed the awful standards of the previous restaurant and franchise, I hope they can afford to hire a chef, maybe this beautiful patio can be saved! For now, you’ll find me on the other side!

Great experience. Had the chipotle nachos and fish tacos. Both dishes were awesome. Food was fresh and staff was friendly. Will come here again

Buffalo Chicken Fajitas. Spicy breaded amazing chicken on tortilla, with tastiest fresh housemade guac!17 Mar, 2015Fave mex food. Biggest difficulty about this place is deciding which of my favourites to have when I’m there – The Buffalo chicken fajitas have taken the title of my favourite fajitas (seriously, way better than regular grilled chicken) – that’s What my attached picture is of, and last time I went I tried their pulled pork burrito which I didn’t know what to expect at first BUT it was super super good! Also really like how all the nachos get toppings on them so that you’re not stuck with a pile of plain chips once getting through the top chips, like at most places
