I am only rating based on dim sum, and as it turns out I am not a dim sum fan lol We were both new to experience, so with all our choices- food was ok – nothing outstanding , restaurant nice and big and service was ok.
Beijing Legend is a restaurant unworthy of anyone’s time and/or money. It’s filthy and mucky. This is a restaurant that nobody should go to. The boss treats his employees awfully. The boss is treating his employees like slaves. The boss doesn’t pay his employees, and he verbally and physically hurts them too. I can’t believe a business like that even exist. It disguises me when I see people that like the restaurant because they do not know what is actually happening within the restaurant.
Came here for lunch w/my family of 5 on a Thursday,and service was a little disoriented but attentive (we were asked if we wanted to order from the lunch specials menu or the Dim Sum menu; we ordered from both); Dim Sum items were fresh and tasty (spring rolls, eggplant filled with shrimp, BBQ bun, shrimp wontons), and the regular menu items ( chicken fried rice, pan fried chicken w/lemon sauce) were also above average. Dim Sum selection was somewhat limited (? related to eating @ the end of the lunch hour).Overall, a very good experience !
We have been to the Beijing Legend a few times on trips to Ottawa. The food has always been excellent. We usually have things like Yang Chow Rice, Mushrooms and vegetables, Kung Pao Chicken, Sesame Beef and so on. Service is sometimes quirky when it is busy — but that’s hardly a serious issue. We take our favorite government servant and bribe them with Lemon Chicken and Fried Rice. It works every time!
I loved Beijing Legend it is one of my favourite places. I enjoyed the deep fried fish with red sauce very much. How eer I really dislike the deep fried lobster. He, he ! im 12
Long wait times to be seated and served by grumpy unhappy servers. Food ok but Dim Sum warm needed to be reheated. Seats uncomfortable. Will not return
Great food. The flavours were the best I’ve tasted, however the variety could be a bit better. The tables were small and spaces were cramped but to me it was worth it. I would go back if only it wasn’t that far from where I live.
