This place has wonderful ambiance and excellent fast and friendly service. The surrounding canal views are beautiful. We found the menu a bit ho hum….love our salads and would love to have some ‘meal’ salad as an option, like a southwest salad, or a beet/chevre…. all three of us succumbed to the ritz burger made with steak. It was very good – but big. Two could share this. Prices are reasonable. Service attentive.I will make this a regular spot when we visit Ottawa!
We went to this beautifully situated restaurant twice on the same weekend. Food acceptable and inexpensive, given the location and the view. Free parking, crowded, but we were lucky both times. The service was what made the place stand out – the staff is amiable and welcoming. We were particularly delighted to have the delightful and pleasant Arielle as our waitress (Note to owner: she is exceptionally efficient and nice; give her a raise and a promotion.). We will probably make this restaurant a tradition every time we go through Ottawa.
Service is good, location is nice with parking however the food is nothing special and have very simple flavors. The food isn’t worth the price.
Admittedly we went to the Canal Ritz because of the canal not from word of mouth. But I was really surprised by how good the mussels were. I had heard bad things and sometimes when restaurants have such beautiful locations they get complacent. This wasn’t what I experienced. I would definitely go again.
I went there for brunch. The eggs Benedict were very good with a little bit of a twist. The place is older and would need some updating but if you don’t mind that, the view is spectacular. They have a patio where you can look into the canal. That’s the best part : the view.
Went there with a group from work. We had a great time. The food and service were top notch. The Veal was tender and flavourful. Some had pizzas and others had salads. We were all impressed with our meals. The location was beautiful as it’s located right onthe Canal. Would definitely recommend this place.
Pretty average. The food wasn’t that good and so overpriced. The view of course is why we go back. Nice to go for a coffee or a drink. Nothing else.
