Love Bucky’s Betta Jerk. I’ve made Bucky’s my go to for Caribbean food for lunch. The restaurant is located by Queen and Airport, hiding in a plaza behind a Burger King. This place is tiny and has like 4 tables in their secluded dining room. The lady who runs things is fantastic. Super friendly and already knows what we want (based on how many times we’ve gone at this point)They have lunch specials until 3pm where you can get Jerk Chicken, Fried Chicken, or BBQ Chicken with rice and peas, and coleslaw for $4.99. The Jerk Chicken is moist and the seasoning is pretty spicy. The meat is fork tender, but I find the fried chicken even better. The fried chicken has that crisp skin, but surprisingly not as oily as you would think. The chicken is flavorful as f***, while the chicken meat stays tender as well. Rice and peas are good and you can have them add gravy (jerk, stewed, oxtail, etc).Definitely one of my favorite lunch spots at the time. The lunch specials are pretty kick ass. If they are a bit small for you, you could opt with their combination dinners. For around $11, you can get a Large Jerk Chicken or Fried Chicken (or both).
