I ordered a soda and discovered a giant chunk of chicken in my sambhar (see attached pic). I asked the cashier to let me speak to the chef or a manager. After several attempts, no one came to me to address this issue. Will not be going her again due to bad service and shoddy food.
As difficult as it may be to believe, I am usually very forgiving of service industry personnel because I understand it to be thankless and hard work, so when I describe the waitress at Madras (in Brampton near the hospital) as a zombie, you must understand that I am being reluctantly sincere. My first interaction with this person was confusing because even though she was young and reasonably conversant in English, she claimed to have no idea what I was talking about when I tried to inquire whether or not they served any ‘vindaloo’ dishes. I attempted this question three times, thinking perhaps she was hard of hearing, but I had to give up and order chicken curry instead. Not wanting to be disappointed, I asked that the dish be prepared extra spicy, but to my dismay, what came out of the kitchen 20 minutes later was a thin and utterly flavourless, watery gruel instead of curry. Even the colour seemed off.The pieces of chicken provided were boiled within an inch of their existence, which made them easier to wrestle off the bone with the spoon I was provided to work with instead of a knife and fork.At no point did the zombie check to see if I was satisfied with my meal.I am white and a big fan of Indian food… I was amazed at how many south asian people were in attendance over lunch given the low standards of the fare on offer. If you cherish any misconceptions that Indian food is always fragrant and flavourful, then please never attend this particular establishment so that they can never be allowed to disabuse you of this notion.Absolutely awful.
I ordered Butter Chicken with Naan. Price was over $15. When I got my order, there was very little chicken, it looked more like soup with little pieces of chicken. The Naan was not homemade, it was the same as you would buy at No Frills. Very disappointing, when the waitress asked me how the food was, I told her my concerns, she just smiled and said nothing. I do NOT recommend this restaurant and will never go back.
Ordered a dosa and a chetinadu Kara masala dosa for take out on Friday April 8. Both dosas were extremely mushy and soft almost crumbly. Ended up with the runs for 2 days along with my wife.Won’t be eating from here again even though we had always enjoyed the vegetarian food.
I was there on Saturday eve….service was osm…luv the food….they did much better than expected.
Since this is the closest dosa place to me, I have gone there multiple times. I do like their dosas, but there is basically no service there, so don’t expect a waiter. Someone just comes to take your order and gives you food and then is never bothered to approach you again. The atmosphere is that of an eatery, it’s small and bare. The last time I went, I did like their water jugs and salt and pepper shakers. Everytime I go there, there are always lacking something off their menu. One time they don’t have a regular type of drink, another time they don’t have any dessert, etc. and this is food any restaurant should have in stock. They are not really kid friendly but they do have some sweet dosas there. I would say that it’s not a dirty restaurant. The actual dishes and cutlery, tables, floor and washrooms are always clean. At the end of your meal, you have to get up to the barely filled large glass countertop and pay at the register.
Very disappointing. Went there on weekend for dinner in Dec 2014 but was very disappointed with small portions, very slow service and dirty environment.. You can’t even finish your food if you look at the dirty floor. Waitress are very busy and don’t even bother smiling or checking on how was the food.. Never ever going back.
