This is probably the only (certainly one of the only) non-chain Greek restaurants in the area, and it’s been here forever! The place is definitely showing its age though. But despite that, the food is very good and the prices are not unreasonable. It really says something when other places nearby come and go but this place just keep on going.
2nd visit, 2 thumbs down. Returned to Symposion for a 2nd visit. Big disappointment. Chicken souvlaki dinner was rationed. Chicken was under cooked in some areas, literally only 3 tablespoons of rice, and the potatos were sliced 1/6 of a potato, and only 2 pieces. Salad was half the plate is was served on and overly drenched in dressing with stale tomatos and no green peppers or oregano. What kind of a greek salad were they serving? Although we ordered drinks, one of the water glasses had lipstick on it from a previous person. While we were dining, 2 tactical clothes peel police officers came for take aways. Noticed they didn’t pay for it….suppose the regular patrons that night wound up picking up the tab for the freebies.
Don’t be fulled!!!. Just don’t get fulled by the pictures on their website. It’s not a nice looking place. It looks cheap and old.The food is not bad but also not the best. You can pay $2 more and go to some nice, clean restaurant with the service that will not be bossing you arround.
Hidden Gem. This is one of my husband and my favorite restaurant! It may not be fine dining but the staff always remember us and the is delicious and very reasonablly price – get very good value for your money. Especially like the option of mixing salad with any entree. You can’t go wrong with any dish!
Food is fantastic, but service is horrid!!! Almost 2.5 hours for entrees!!! It’s a busy night, but seriously, slowest service I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
It’s good. Great tasting food and lots of it. The best Greek in town. The location is a bit dated but the service is very good. I would give value a 4 out of 5 and service a 5 our of 5. I tried the lamb and enjoyed it though I would have prefered a nice gravy over mint jelly. The portions are generous and the flavour of the food was good.
Good service but food is mediocre at best!. Service was good but the good was certainly NOT worth the trip. Appetizers were fine but the food went downhill from there. The Greek Salad was bland with tasteless tomatoes, huge chunks of iceberg lettuce & poorly prepared dressing. The lamb special was TERRIBLE. Souvlaki was OK – but its hard to screw that up! All in all, an overpriced, disappointing experience. I definitely would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows & loves Greek food!
