Food was good but just good! Nothing amazing, I’ve tried better Mexican cuisine downtown. But the portion sizes were great you get a lot for your buck and the server was very polite and nice. However it was very cold inside, like literally no heat. I also went to use the washroom in this place and it was awful and not well kept. I didn’t even bother using it! Overall there are some pros and some cons!
We have been to this restaurant about 5 times at this point and will definitely return. The food is absolutely incredible. The restaurant is family run, charming, colourful and quaint. On Saturday evening we have experienced local entertainment also which was a pleasant surprise. Each time we have been we have experienced outstanding service, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the food is out of his world. This was an authentic Mexican experience. We went again last night and it was extremely busy so I think word is getting out about this treasure. PS: Try the Mexican pops…….fantastic.
Finally a real authentic Mexican restaurant! Located downtown Brampton, La Catrina has a very homey atmosphere about it. I came here on an early Friday evening and we were the only ones in the restaurant, soon it started to fill up. Service was really friendly and attentive. The menu has a lot of authentic Mexican dishes to offer. I went with the Mexican mole that comes with beans, rice and guac (also comes with tortillas). It was delicious and tasted very real and home made. Absolutely loved it, I can’t wait to go back and try something else! I also had to have the churros for dessert to top it off – yum! tasted like something my grandma made.My only slight complaint – I think as well as some others is the door to this restaurant. It keeps opening and shutting on it’s own and it gets cold inside. While I was there a couple of people had just came in and sat down and complained about the door and actually left because of it. Luckily I sat in the corner where it wasn’t as cold but this definitely needs to be addressed.
Amazing. Very clean new place.Very generous portions.Good prices.Attentive service.Owner/Cook from Acapulco.Authentic Mexican food and presentation.Cochinita Pibil was deliciously flavourful. The platter is an unbelievable value.Pozole not on menu, but is available on Saturdays. Seems like you have to ask.Weekends park free in city hall underground parking around corner.- Tortillas on the side are normally soft and fresh in every Acapulco restaurant, but here they were served crispy.
Big disappointment. First of all, it took the waitress 14 minutes to take our order.Second, it took 35 minutes for our food to arrive. So now we’re up to more than 45 minutesThird, our waitress never gave us updates, she gave her undivided attention to the table behind us, she frequented there table at least 15 times (i counted) for approximately 2 minutes per visitFourth, our waitress only came to our table three times:1st to take our order.2nd to bring our meal3rd to bring the bill. I felt alienated, unwanted and devalued. ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I left KNOWING that I could have gotten better service at Burger King. Needless to say, I won’t be back nor will I advise any of my colleagues at Brampton Transit.
