I really wanted to like this restaurant, and as a preface, the food was actually really tasty. But the service was *terrible*. The deepfryer broke while we were there, but we weren’t told about it until after we’d been waiting an hour for even just our appetizers. We had even ordered raw oysters, which could have been served first, but that didn’t happen. We ended up waiting 2 hours for all of our food to arrive, all at different times. At no point were we offered free drinks, or bread, or an appetizer on the house as compensation for the insane wait, nor were we really kept up to date on the time it was going to take for our food. After we finished, a couple people in our party talked to the chef/owner and our waitress, but the response was very uncaring and rude. Not to mention they also ran out of a menu option that we’d ordered a few plates of, so we only got 2 orders of them instead of 4.I understand that a deepfryer breaking is not something you can predict and it’s not their fault either, but keeping your customers in the dark until they’re hangry, and not offering an out, or compensation is bad management.
So lucky to have this in Brantford. Small and off the beaten path but a must visit for any one in 100 miles that enjoys great food, good atmosphere , lovely staff and a well stocked bar. would highly suggest anything that is on menu at the time you go and if the puffy potatoes are there… just think like potatoes and clouds had a little fried baby. absolutely exceptional

Amazing food. On the lam is great, the staff was cool and the drinks and food were amazing. I had the mussels, Brussels sprouts, potato puffs and the lamb everything was cooked perfectly
Excellent all around experience. Went for dinner last night, excellent experience from start to finish. Bubbly wait staff, interesting, tasty dishes, good quantities and reasonable prices. Had the pickles & olives app, chicken breast, beef tenderloin, toffee and smores for dessert. Will be back! One complaint, the music was too loud…

Foodie. To be honest …….. I was a little taken back by the price. Great steak ,cooked to perfection, but no side what so ever just a hunk of beef presented in a sauce.
